So we should pay more because some people travel? That's a weird argument that just seems like an excuse to charge the UK more (and it's a UK specific thing as Europeans get charged in Euros and pay less).

How often do you expect CR to adjust their rates to account for currency exchange fluctuations?

Travel has to with the "We get less, why don't we pay less?" question, not the "Why do we pay more when converted to US currency than those who pay with Euros?" question.

I believe Switzerland is generally split into two for rights agreements and then packaged with French or German speaking rights. It sounds like the problem is with whoever holds German speaking rights.

The EU's single digital market initiative is going to backfire spectaclularly for anime fans.FUNintion buys English-language rights to series, many of those will no longer be streamable in Europe, as European companies can't have UK rights and UK companies don't want to renegotiate for all of Europe. It will be a disaster for imported content, and the cynic in me thinks the EU are doing it deliberately.

And it will disproportionately affect the British media more than any other country, but lets not go there.

Ah yes, I totally forgot about FUNimation. One of the companies responsible for a sink hole in Europe. Either way, my point is just that the current "language regions" aren't a solution either. This becomes especially clear in my region for anime, where everything is presumed French for some obnoxious reason. Crunchyroll also redirects me to the German site each time I start a new session too, which only 0.4% of the people here have as their native language. We don't have this problem with other streaming sites like Netflix. Some companies just seem to underestimate the English proficiency in Europe (www.ef.com/epi/).
