I meant boring in the sense that it would have been one of the obvious choices for the final, what with all the hype surrounding it. I don't doubt for a minute that it's far more eventful than both of the finalists, put together. And it kind of baffles me that it never does well, considering how popular it is.

Oh. Shirayuki coming this far was definitely a big surprise. NNB was a bit unexpected but not as much considering the fact that Renge somehow reached the finals and faced Saitama before. Even though it would've lost to Food Wars if a few people didn't show up 1 minute too late *coughsonic&biocough*.

This is the third tournament where Jojo was an option. It didn't make it past the nominations in the 2012 Battle. Not even in the 2014 Battle but it got in during the King of the Underrated round and lost immediately after the ROTF. It seems to do better each year so hopefully it can at least make it to the finals next year.

Vote Desu

I vote for Non Non Biyori because I enjoyed its pleasant atmosphere and ability to make the mundane entertaining. I don't think it is the best the year had to offer, per say, but it is a lot better than the snoozefest that is Snow White, and Ren-chon and the gang made me smile and laugh often. I made a Do It For Her for NNB and Ren-chon! (might make more if I feel like it and time permitting)

Snow White with the Red Hair

This was an excellent watch for the Shoujo genre. I had a lot of hype going into it and well... it lived up to its reputation. The two main characters: Shirayuki and Zen really shine throughout the series. I would have to say Shirayuki was a phenomenal character to watch throughout the entire season and possibly one of the strongest characters of the year. However, that is not to say all the characters were overshadowed by her. In fact, all of the characters mesh really well with one another. It is somewhat of a support system for each other. A really big support system. I will admit. There are some cheesy parts in it, but what is a Shoujo without some of it? One main thing I want to mention is the color usage and the soundtrack. Both of these compliment each other extremely well. The colors are extremely lively (especially some of these color pages on manga). The red hair from Shirayuki. The extremely light green color on the trees. Lots of Sunlight shots, which complements the scene and colors. Just about everything, the person behind the color scheming deserves a huge standing ovation. The instrumentals mixed with the visuals create the perfect mood... a wonderful mood.

Really surprised to see Shirayuki make all the way to the finals. I thought it was legit out, but who knows. There are definitely some factors to factor in with participation going up and down. Overall, really enjoy the final results of the finals. It did look bleak, but CR managed to get both shows that are a favorite of mine in the finals. This is pretty crazy, yet another contest where shows/characters I like made it to the finals. I must have some really good luck with these. I dunno. Whoever wins, I will be quite glad. In my opinion, both shows did really well for their respective genres and as I mentioned earlier in the Non Non Biyori write up. It is still one of the best/favorite slice of life series to date.

The Finals

Non Non Biyori Repeat

I am happy that two good shows made it to the finals . A good story can be done without excessive violence / fanservice etc. I wiil be fine with whoever wins ! I just feel Non Non Biyori got the edge by having so many outstanding episodes such as Renge / Natsumi in EP 4 when she has to cheer up Renge after the tadpoles
and Natsumi hatches some new ones . Great Life lesson

Of course EP 10 I thought was the standout EP with Kaede teaching Renge how to ride a bike . Renge wore those band-aids like they were patches of honorThen Kaede rushes over when Renge is sick !

Every EP was good but just pointed out a couple thay gives it the nudge for my vote!

Renge was so proud of her backpack

Thanks! NNBR

Non Non Biyori Repeat - Amazing OP's and ED's. Great visuals. I wish I had someone in my life like Renge has Candy Store. Nattsun is a hilarious troll and cute tomboy. Hotaru, are you really a fifth grader? and Senpai probably grew a centimeter this season. Sosunser.

Well, I wouldn't call either of these shows the best of 2015. I kind of feel like the Rotf rounds dragged on too long and changed the entire flow of the tounament. Maybe in the future, cut it down so only the fallen in the top 32 are involved and have it decided within 2 days or so? Thanks though, for putting on the tourney. It was fun even if these two shows weren't expected to be at the top.

That being said, I vote for:

Snow White with the Red Hair - It has a good overall cast with the highlights being the strong, determined Shirayuki and the amusing, secretive Obi. It had a nice, refreshing romance between Shirayuki and Zen which stayed away from the more annoying shojo tropes. The visuals were very appealing. While there were sometimes that the plot had pacing issues and too many kidnappings, overall it was well done and interesting.

Snow White with the Red Hair - Because I'm busy with school right now, and I don't want to miss voting, I'm just going to use my old reasons. However, I will say this, even though the series may be a bit slow-paced, when it does have action moments, they genuinely leave quite an impact. And I think the reason that they do leave an impact--besides being amazingly animated and music cues--is because the series is slow-paced and action moments don't happen all the time. Now onto my old reasons.

Funny enough, this series wasn't originally on my watch list for the season that it came out in. It wasn't until I saw some gifs from episode 2 of Shirayuki cleverly fighting off Mihaya that I decided to give the series a watch. And boy! Did this series quickly become one of my favorite animes to watch. Not only are all the characters enjoyable to watch--with amazing animation to boot--but they all have their own motivations and reasons for doing what they do.

One of the reasons that I love this series is because Shirayuki is not your typical female protagonist. She's a strong, kindhearted, quick-witted, hardworking girl who has a dream to become a pharmacist and doesn't let anything get in her way of achieving her dream and later her job. She wants people to look at her for who she really is and not just her red hair--which is the reason why she left her home country in the first place. While other main female leads main goal would be to try and find a way to get into the castle so that they could be closer to the prince, Shirayuki was just looking for a job when the position to be a royal court pharmacist opened up--which of course she jumped at the chance to try-out for because being a pharmacist is all she ever wanted to be. Shirayuki wants to be in the castle because that's where her job is, not because that's where Zen--the second prince of Clarines--is.

Another reason why I love this series, is because of the relationship between Shirayuki, Zen and Obi. Most shojo series that have a relationship between a girl and two guys will usually put them into a love triangle; however, Snow White with the Red Hair does not do this. This series has every chance--and I mean every chance--to make the relationship between these three into a love triangle, but doesn't do it. So what does it do instead? It develops their deepening respect and mutual support that they have for one another. Even though the relationship that these three share started off on the wrong foot, it quickly developed into a relationship where they would do anything for one another with the utmost respect and care. If you want to read a much more detailed version of what I'm talking about, then check out this link--be warned though, it does contain some spoilers from the manga.

Hand Red the Crown made from the Blood of the Fallen

Akagami no Shirayuki - All right. Finals. Let's end this. First of all I just want to say I don't like the negativity toward this show, which might be a bit hypocritical on my part for some other shows, but I still don't like it. It's not as boring as you all are making it out to be, and involves many fights and tense moments between the romance and casual ambiance. It most definitely might not be for some people, namely those who can't stand a slow-paced narrative at times. But it isn't always like that.

Is this what might be considered an exciting final? I don't think so either. Is it my best of 2015? Also no, that's probably SNAFU2 or Gatchaman Crowds Insight. Still, this is what the majority of you chose. This is the fight.

Shirayuki is a strong, driven woman that pushes against the world and doesn't let it drag her down. She is adorable but fierce when she needs to be. She makes this show amazing. BONES did a fantastic job with the watercolor-like background and the aesthetics, the fights are beauitfully animated and the voice acting is suberb (especially Hayami Saori as Shirayuki). The supporting is cast is one of the best out there, and even the villain of the first half shows growth under the influence of Shirayuki. The romantic moments are uplifting and heart-skipping, and even the comedic moments are pretty entertaining when they occur. This was one of my favorite shows of the year, by far, and I'm happy to see others enjoyed it as much.

A brilliant performance indeed. Who can resist the allure of glasses + skill, as shown here:

This is a vote

Non Non Biyori Repeat - It is true that I had a hard time getting into the first season of both SWWTRH and NNB, but I found myself going back every week to see how things were going with Shirayuki, and after rewatching the first few episodes of Non Non Biyori and moving past what I initially found annoying, I was completely hooked--enchanted especially with Renge, but also enjoying the daily lives and quiet adventures of all the girls. It was a complete joy to spend more time with them during Repeat. But, I have to admit that while overall I did enjoy Shirayuki and its slow pace, there were indeed times when I found it... boring. I was never bored when watching Non Non Biyori. So that's why it gets my vote.

Let us again say good night to Pillow Boys and scowl at everyone who didn't vote for:
