Akagami no Shirayuki-hime : This was recommended to me by a friend and I have a few regrets that I should have watched this sooner. An anime with a modern twist to the Snow White story! (albeit better) The story is quite intriguing

Final Vote!

Non Non Biyori Repeat
The finals is finally here! And it just happens to be between two of the most vibrant and endearing shows from 2015. The two are among my favorites, so I'm jazzed! In terms characters, Renge and Shirayuki are top tier, and both have lovely casts. Hmm.. for as to which show that I enjoyed more, I would have to pick Non Non Biyori Repeat. This was the first slice of life that I ever watched (and completed). I was stunned as to how I was enjoying such mundane and relaxing events. Most significantly, this show made me fondly reflect on my childhood: learning to ride a bike, walking to school, swimming in rivers, firefly watching, walking endlessly with friends, frequenting the bakery/candy store and getting my first cellphone. I loved how simple and easygoing everything was back then, and this show really captured that feeling. This show is also great at evoking emotions. I teared up during the lesson with Kaede, and cried tears of laughter at a certain scene where Hikage just couldn't help but peek.

Thanks for the heads up LionelJeid! I didn't even notice the daily deals... and I do really want to pick up the BDs for these series.

Non Non Biyori Repeat
If there was an anime equivalent to ambrosia, this would be it. A nice healing anime that'll leave you all warm and fuzzy inside. All the characters are endearing and even the guy with no lines is entertaining. Every so often they'll hit you with a really meaningful episode. Sometimes it'll make you a little sad and then rebound back to happiness or it may be super heartwarming.

Non Non Biyori - A show more than deserving of victory. Its touching character interactions and beautifully idyllic setting make a show that is heartwarming, memorable, and downright adorable. Shirayuki is great too, but when I think about what each show is trying to accomplish, I personally feel like Non Non Biyori accomplishes it better (perhaps even perfectly). Shirayuki is solid, but not on the same level to me personally (though, I wouldn't be too upset if it did win here)

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is a good show, I would even say a great one. A show with a good cast of characters, an organic, well built romance story and a world that is easy to get lost in. And for about 12 consistent episodes, it very much fits that bill. The show is nearly perfect, with a sense of tranquility and calm, a feeling of ease and comfort that very few stories can ever generate. The atmosphere of this show, and its rather mature and restrained build up of the core romance between its two central characters, Shirayuki and Zen, is what undoubtedly sets it apart from most other shows and stories of the same style.

Zen and Shirayuki are the core and the heart of the story, and as far as two central lead characters go, they stand out in an exemplary manner. Shirayuki’s the confident, independent girl that’s a rarity in the shoujo genre in general, but what makes her truly remarkable is the fact that she is able to be the confident, independent character while maintaining the traditional femininity of a romance story heroine.

Shirayuki is as close to a perfect female character as I’ve seen thus far. A character that’s able to be pretty, interesting, confident, nice, shy and vulnerable while continuing to surprise and impress with each new challenge that she faces. And yes, I said she’s the perfect character, not the perfect woman or girl because as anyone with any fiction writing experience will tell you, a good character has pluses and minuses like any other person.

No, what makes Shirayuki so great is the fact that she’s a very likable person in how she’s constructed. And as if to compliment her, Zen, the hero of the story, is himself equally as interesting and well done of a character. Zen’s a more typical shoujo prince character, one who’s confident, reliable but who also tends to have a more brash and immature side to him. He’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and has his own issues and challenges, but its in how he, much like Shirayuki, rises to each challenge, that makes him so endearing. And of course, as with any good couple, Zen and Shirayuki have terrific chemistry whenever they’re on screen together. Bringing out the best in one another, supporting one another, and acting both in parallel and for one another, in the most admirable and likable of ways, is the heart and soul of this story. But while Zen and Shirayuki are the highlight and the draw of this anime series, they don’t do it alone, they also have a excellent set of background characters to fall back on.

I could go more into the cast but this length is already long enough, and the series does have a special spot in my heart.

Non Non Biyori Repeat

More of NNB's perfectly executed blend of the comedic and "feels." Like the 2013 show, NNB "Repeat" is one of the most superbly crafted anime I have had the privilege to watch.

Also would be great to make it 2 in a row for ★Battle tournament wins. Having my highest-rated (eligible) shows of the year taking the title for both '14 and '15 will be most gratifying. Hopefully then we go for the hat-trick next year, with what is looking increasingly likely to be Re:Zero.

Shirayuki- When it comes to plot, characters, and overall quality I was blown away by Shirayuki. Honestly I didn't try this show until recently but once I saw it was hooked. I marathoned the hell out of show. In comparison, with Non Non Biyori, bless Our Almighty Supreme Lord and Savior in the Heavens Above Renge-dono's heart but frankly the rest of the characters were a bore to me. I couldn't even finish the second season do to how much it bored me. I love slice of life but at some point I'd like to be interested in the show besides Our Almighty Supreme Lord and Savior in the Heavens Above Renge-donos showing up.

Snow White - Because the characters are great and it has a laid back setting that warms me up inside every time I watch it. Plus, Shirayuki and Zen are an awesome couple. This show 100% deserves to win.

Snow White with the Red Hair

Proactive, interesting, well-developed female protagonist with a passion for science? I'm in!

Snow White with the Red Hair - As much as I love Non Non Biyori, I think I liked this one just a little more. It has a good story, and I love all the characters, especially Obi and Zen. I like the way the relationship grows between Shirayuki and Zen. They are both a little afraid of letting their feelings be known, even though everyone else knows how they feel. It was a great show and I"m glad it was able to come back in the Revenge of the Fallen round and make it to the finals.

Non Non Biyori - Definitely one of the greats when it comes to SoL, and a good show to watch and relax after work. Also Natsumi best girl.
