For those who voted against GATE...

You talking to me?

I actually enjoyed GATE quite a lot, in spite of some details that aren't my thing. But I really do think Food Wars is better overall. I couldn't resist making a couple of petty, friendly jabs though.

Oh no, haha More just anyone that voted against GATE, as that is enough to constitute bad-mouthing waifus Oddly enough, for being such a huge waifu fan, I didn't really have any from GATE, aside from the possibility of Sherry when she gets a bit older. She has all the good qualities and looks, but I avoid being too big of a creep as to call a loli a waifu (aside from Mikan, but let's face it, she is literally the embodiment of what being a waifu means...). I loved GATE because I love Lord of the Rings and the like (actually started reading Fellowship in 3rd grade, and finished the trilogy in 4th grade, and my teachers were absolutely baffled that this little kid was reading Tolkien fiction and understanding what was going on and being able to grasp the themes and pronunciations of things ), and I'm not some huge military otaku like I think it was Kodaka from Highschool of the Dead, but I would have gone into Spec Ops programs if it wasn't for my body's health suddenly going ka-poot at 13, so putting two things that intrigue me a ton together into GATE (and having a good OST, love me some Rockets) and having a surprisingly gritty story made it one of the anime of the year for me.

Food Wars, on the other hand, is something I've tried to get into as my friends I hang out with every Saturday love it, and there's some cute/sexy girls in it, but I can't get into it... I don't know if it's because I'm not a huge food aficionado (basically, I don't venture out with food much, and just eat for the purpose of eating, putting taste and visuals and all that stuff second) or because I just find the humor/ecchi too obnoxious, but it doesn't click for me

First two matches of this round are going to be brutal. No matter which shows win, I'll lose two of my favorites of the year.

Sweet 16

☠ The 16 shows that make it out of the Round of 32 will be pitted against each other in 1 vs. 1 matches.
☠ Vote for the show you want to see advance. Starting from this round, you must provide a valid reason for your choice. Reasons such as "this show is awesome", "the other show sucks", "WOOOOOOOOOOO", "just because", "someone told me to", etc., are not acceptable. All votes are subject to admin approval and will be checked to see if they meet our requirements.
☠ 8 shows will make it out of this round.
☠ Example vote:

Match 1: Food Wars - It is probably one of my favorite Shounens of all time. It combines classic shounen fighting with food, what more can I ask for?
Match 2: Assassination Classroom - Koro-sensei was one of the best characters of 2015 and his interactions with all his students made for an enjoyable show.

Match 1: Food Wars - I never thought that watching people cook could be entertaining (if you can guess, I'm not a fan of cooking shows) but this anime can be down right riveting in it's cooking battles. And even when there's not really much at stake and we're just seeing the characters tool around with some recipes and learn new techniques it's still a joy to watch.

Match 2 Assassination Classroom - I really like it's rather large cast of characters, each of whom bring their own viewpoints and skill set to the difficult task of killing Koro-Sensei. This variety is one of the things that made this show stand out to me and why it was so enjoyable week after week.

Match 1: Food Wars - Because Hisako is a Murderer of Turtles
Match 2: Owarimonogatari - "Because Araragi's past is the key to the future," she said with a posed look.
