Gangsta. - This was a pretty good series about mobsters and mercenaries. The only real complaint I have is that it didn't have a real conclusion. In fact, the final episode ended right when the conflict was getting started. Even so, the story up until that point was good. I would've preferred for it to be more realistic, but the doping did add more drama. This is the first time I've seen a protagonist who can't speak properly and is mostly deaf. Nicolas and Worick's partnership was handled nicely with that backstory of when they first met. Of course the action was great too. It was always fun to watch Nicolas not holding back on anyone. Heavy Object - I know that Fall was stacked with a lot of good shows, but how did Beautiful Bones make it in and not this? I understand that not everyone is into mecha, but Heavy Object deserves at least some recognition. It wasn't about the traditional humanoid mechas fighting in close combat. It was gigantic tanks that were just as important as nukes. Just 1 is enough to win wars against those who don't have any. It certainly was a unique mecha series. Not only that, but it was a mecha series that focused on a small main cast more than the story. The chemistry between the characters was great. Who would've thought they'd ever see a regular soldier, a student, a pilot, and their boss casually fooling around with each other while also winning major battles? Plus, that penguin scene was the best thing that could ever happen in the middle of a fight! |
