Sorry but I think you've gotten me all wrong, i'm not looking for localized translated content, oh heck no. Despite being Dutch and fluent in the Dutch language it is a nightmare to translate to and from the Dutch language. I will never expect content to be translated to Dutch, it is just that i want the content to even be available in the first place, subbed over dubbed if even!

The Dutch language is obscure and near useless, on a global scale im pretty sure that there wont be more than 25 million speakers which globally averages out to near non existence. If I would be looking for translated content in Dutch I probably wouldn't be arguing on this matter in English.

I have never implied that. I have pointed out that you lack content on streaming sites in the Netherlands due to the fact that no disc publishing company is active in your region. If there were a company releasing anime with Dutch dub and subtitles, you would have less of a content gap.

Your problem is that disc rights for older titles for the Netherlands are in many cases held by companies from the UK, as the rights are often packaged into English-speaking licensing packages. However these companies have little interest in serving the Netherlands except for letting you import the UK disc release. Unless these companies become willing to make their content available on a streaming service, there's little that can be done. This basically explains why many of the titles coming to North America are limited to the US and Canada - someone else has the rights over here in Europe, either acquired directly from Japan or sub-licensed from Funimation *before* we made our deal with them.

.So to sum it up,

-Company in UK is having licenses in EU but not supplying to us
-You guys ain't acquiring the license
-Region locks are horribly toxic to this business

All in all, we're just getting motivation towards piracy as opposed to a deterrence yet somehow the license holders and content creators do not want us to pirate the content? I'm afraid that with such a wonderful and lovely place like the internet where we can send information all across the world, limitations like these are just grand bullshit to the extreme. Streamed content to be watched where and when you wanted is the future of the industry and a solid solution to piracy, but for that to happen the content must be available.

I'd like to thank CR, Funimation and the rest of this ridiculous industry to provide incentive and a good reason to be pirating, i'm back to donning the Pirate hat along with hook and eye patch. See you guys when you've finally learned how to stream content across the globe <3

We acquire whatever license we can. It's just not always possible to get everything. That's how an open market works. Nobody is supposed to have a monopoly. It keeps prices low for the consumers as well.

And it is not like the content isn't legally available to you. You can probably acquire nearly all of the titles absent from our line-up in the Netherlands cheaply on disc (be it new from Amazon, second hand from Ebay, etc.) or as a digital rental.

For me, pretty much all the older series aren't licensed anymore. And I remember being licensed a month ago, like SAO. I was watching the series until I noticed it isn't available in my region anymore.

It would be great if CR could somehow mention the expiration date of every content. Perhaps in the "details" box of a content.

It's a bit annoying to see that some contents disappear without warning due to terminating licenses. And this kind of transparency can really help people and the image of CR, i think...

Nearly all of the licenses here are "open-ended"; they don't have expiration dates as long as CR keeps paying. You can look on just about any show page and click the RSS symbol under the picture to get the RSS page showing markup tags. They almost always show some improbable end date because CR doesn't know themselves when the license will end. For a random example:

/omamori-himari.rss

<crunchyroll:endPubDate>Mon, 30 Nov 9998 08:00:00 GMT</crunchyroll:endPubDate>
<crunchyroll:premiumEndPubDate>Mon, 30 Nov 9998 08:00:00 GMT</crunchyroll:premiumEndPubDate>
<crunchyroll:freeEndPubDate>Mon, 30 Nov 9998 08:00:00 GMT</crunchyroll:freeEndPubDate>

One thing that can happen is some other company comes along and offers a higher amount to the licensor for exclusive rights ( like Funi sometimes used to do before the partnership ), or even, as may have been the case here with Sentai (due to that same Funi partnership, being a direct disk distributing competitor), something happened that disrupted the good will of prior relationships, and the business arrangement had to change...

Whatever the reason for an abrupt cease of rights, they aren't actually going to tell us, unless they have been given express permission to do so. If there is a non-disclosure agreement, or even if there isn't, it would be poison in business to openly discuss reasons and point fingers of blame, thus burning any bridges and making themselves appear to be a bad partner to other companies they have as sources.

Not on iPhone or Roku, either...

You should report it here: /contact

You'll get two automated responses, then, anywhere from 2 days to two weeks later, a real person will finally answer.

Hello I thank you for that bit of information but I have a concern that I have not seen anyone post or I missed it. Why is it that on my PS4 i have access to all the new titles, but when i log on to my PC I only get access to 80 percent of the last 4 to 6 months anime that has came out. my list goes from 12+ anime to 4??? is there something wrong with my account?

Your PC might have a cookie set with the wrong country for unknown reasons... Try clearing your cookies and log back in.

If that doesn't work, go to the /contact page, then scroll down to detected country in gray letters. Does that match where you are? If not, it may be a IP address assigned to your ISP isn't correct in the geolocation database.

So many titles are missing for Russia, due to licensing limitations.
Every time I search for nice title I see "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region."
Is there any way to watch what I want?
