Sorry, where can I switch between Flash and HTML5 players?
Posted 5/28/18 , edited 6/24/18
Crunchyroll has to adapt to HTML5 because Flash is outdated and Adobe themselves has told developers to stop using it and i myself refuse to install Flash so the site needs a update on the videos fast.

Flash was fun back in the days of website interactivity i myself used to create my own Flash content for my Myspace profile as a teenager and it was fun and all dealing with the development, working with ActionScript 2.0 and 3.0 even though i wasnt a big fan of 3.0 as much.. but its outdated now and its a security issue with many more concerns and Flash has to be dropped.

Please Crunchyroll switch to HTML5.

If you got any safety in mind, you avoided both Java and Flash along time ago, like before html5.

If i have to use my smart-tv or my android-tab to watch crunchyroll, thats a better solotion that installing flash on my computer.

But when you finaly abandon flash, I may use it in my web-browser too.
HTML5 has bean around since 2012, become offical 2014, and youtube switched in early 2015.

And after you switched to html5, you can add support for ipv6, it's only 20 years old now.

Apple abanded flash in 2010.
Youtube abanded flash in 2015.
Adobe gave up on flash in 2015, but put the offical end-of-life at 2020.

Hope you have plans to abanded falsh soon, but at least before 2020.

I use firefox, when a new flash is ready to install I remove all flash and then install it fresh. sometimes, that could be flash related issues. second, when was the last time you cleared your cache, cookies and temp... also, when was the last time you updated your device drivers... these and many other issues could be related to why something just suddenly stops working. however, chrome did just announce they were going to be having each window/tab run in their own separate processor causing everything to run even slower and boggle down not only the browser but also the device itself. and I haven't used java in over a year now, have had no need to.

As of Chrome 69 (released Sept 4th), all flash content requires manual activation EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE BROWSER. It's (past) time to enable HTML5 for everyone.

Hello,
As the previous post mentioned, since Google Chrome 10th anniversary update, the site settings such as enabling Flash content for Crunchyroll.com is no longer preserved.

The settings page itself warns the user "Your Flash settings will be kept until you quit Chrome."

Please update the PC website

Edit: (Sep 21, 2018) Chunchyroll now loads the new HTML5 player. Problem solved.

Crunchyroll has just been using the new player for me, which seems good. I have never had an issue except for jojo's bizarre adventure episode 4, which at multiple points refused to load. Other than that, no problems at all.
