Best of 2016 The results are in... You voted... And you decided... The Best of 2016 was... ... ... ... My Hero Academia!   1. My Hero Academia (36) 2. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (34) 3. Sekko Boys (1) Final Note(s) And it's over folks! In probably the closest Finals ever, My Hero Academia grasped victory in the last seconds to defeat Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and become the winner of the 2016 Battle! Congrats to My Hero Academia and all its fans that supported it throughout the tourney! I won't lie, I am a bit bummed that Rakugo didn't win. As most of you could probably tell, it's the show I wanted to win the whole thing from the start. It would have been nice if my pick had won the tourney in my last year. *Sheds manly tear* D'aw well. At least it was a very strong showing for it! Personally, my perfect finals would have been Rakugo vs. Haikyuu!! It almost happened. Almost. It was a crazy ride this year once again. I would like to thank my staff for helping me throughout the tourney - cay032692, lorreen, and ballot_bot! You guys were awesome. I'd also like to thank everyone that participated and supported their favorite shows. I know there was a lot of heartbreak throughout the tourney but we all knew only one anime could win. And to those that stuck around even after their favorite show was eliminated, I thank you. The voter turnout this year increased dramatically from last year. For this, I also thank you all. Your continued participation is most appreciated. This was my 3rd year in a row running this thing. I put in A LOT of effort this year. A LOT. I made all the HYPE videos, graphics, manga panels, etc. Making all of these cool things took a good chunk of my time everyday and at times was quite exhausting. I just hope that you all enjoyed what I made. I did say I wanted to go all out in my last year. I hope you guys all enjoyed the ride! Because most likely, I won't be back next year. Sad, I know. What can I say, I got old mannnnnn. I would love to do this every year but I do have to make monies in the real world and all that good stuff. If only I got paid or reimbursed to do this. The dream folks, the dream. But hey, if some youngster thinks that can handle the reigns next year, let me know. I'll do my best to help you out. In the end, I hope you all enjoyed the tournament and make sure to look forward to the next tournament that pops up in the Anime forums!  Crunchyroll...ARE YOU READY? You shouldn't be surprised at this point. I know you all love me. Definitely. Probably. Anyways, as you can already tell, I have returned again this year to bring you the 2016★Battle! 5th year anniversary baby! Contain your excitement please. Screw it. LET IT ALL OUT MANNNNNNNNNN. I'm going all out this year! Why? Well, this could very well be my last year running this thing. Sad, I know. So why not go out with a bang? You guys should all know me by now. Why wouldn't you? But for those of you who don't, I am ShawnHacaga. I am a connoisseur of fine anime. I've seen over 2000 anime series, movies, OVAs, etc. Crazy, right? I always do my best to highlight the positives of any anime I've seen, even if it's "trash". I am also a self-proclaimed renowned personality on CR, writing highly acclaimed stories and votes in the ever popular contests on the anime forums. Well, I used to at least. Tough times. I like to talk with people with similar interests on social media and like writing about random things on my blog. I am also a part of a podcast with a crazy bunch of users from Crunchyroll. One year later and we're still not very good, at all. The graphics for the podcast though are sexy (I totally make most of them.) Alright, that's enough shameless promotion. If you're new to the whole forum tourney/contest deal, welcome! If you're a veteran, get HYPED! I know a lot of you have been looking forward to this 2016★Battle and I hope you all have tons of fun (though we all know there is going to be tons of salt). Of course, this is a lot of work for just one man. That is why I'll have a group of capable individuals helping me out throughout the tourney - my tourney admins if you will.
