4 - Flying Witch - Sometimes a slice of life anime is show chill, heartwarming, lightly funny, and just a delight to watch, that it manages to make you smile for 99% of the time you're watching it. This is not a complicated show. It doesn't have any extravagant or eccentric art or animation. It's just a wonderfully calm, feelgood anime, with amazingly chipper and quirky characters. It's a perfect show for calming you down after having watched a particular fast paced, plot heavy, or frustrating show.
3 - Mob Psycho 100 - This is obviously much more action-orientated, plot heavy and fast-paced than Flying Witch. I thought it was really good. I liked the strange and eccentric style to it. I liked the oddball protagonist, Mob. It was a well told story, with some pretty sweet action scenes. I can't say it did much wrong, but like I said, sometimes a simple chill and light show is all you need to be highly enjoyable.
2 - She and Her Cat -Everything Flows- - I didn't watch it. I can't say much about it.
1 - Ninja Girl & Samurai Master - I didn't watch it. I heard less about it that the one above.

Group 6 -
4 - BBK/BRNK - The CG was initially jarring, sure, but that quickly ceased to be an issue, when the show was as engaging as it was... There's that word again... This is a show were would even route for the villains because they're that likable. That being said, its a strange predicament when you find yourself more interested in the villains than the main heroes, although, I would say that problem does solve itself soon after. What I liked a lot about this, though, is how many of the side characters got a fairly decent amount of screen time, and potential development. It made for a more interesting show than if we were to just constantly follow our main heroes, through their daily lives, regardless of how mundane it may have been. The mechs were nice, the fights cool, I quite liked the CG style after a while. It was a top notch show, that I fear many really didn't care about.
3 - My Hero Academia - It's hard to pinpoint why this isn't my top choice in this group... I really enjoyed this. I liked the slow growth of the main character. I liked all the side characters he befriended and became acquainted with. I liked the rivalry. I liked the dynamic between Izuku and All Might. I liked damn-near everything about this. Almost as much as BBK/BRNK, but not quite.
2 - Keijo - Tits and ass... Oh, I'm sorry, did you think that was a joke reason?
1 - The Heroic Legend of Arslan -Dust Storm Dance- - As an enthusiast of the trap variety, I've seen many images of Arslan, many in which the artists may likely had taken liberties in just how androgynous he is. Yet alas, I have still not seen his anime. A shame.

Group 7
4 - Tanaka-kun is Always Listless - It's weird how such a chill and relaxed anime can be one of the better comedies of the season. Tanaka was an amazing protagonist. His listless and lazy demeanor could have quickly felt like a gimmick, but the show managed to keep it fresh and amusing, putting him in situations where his listlessness would produce some amusing results. Not to mention he had a great group of characters supporting him, and there was something to like about all of them.
3 - Thunderbolt Fantasy - Not an anime, and while I convinced myself that wasn't the reason I was going to give it two points, when it came time to give a reason for that, nothing else came to mind, so... Three points, because I liked it. I thought it was a fun and intriguing show. After a short while, you just sort of embrace the idea of the characters being puppets, and I would say it made it feel much more engaging... A word I can tell I'm going to be using a lot in my reasons... It didn't diminish anything from the show, and in fact made for some strangely enjoyable... "animations"? I mean, it's technically not animation, but out of the choices I've seen, this show is the most fluid and pleasant to watch... which may also have to do with it having the most action, which was done incredibly well, despite them being puppets. The story wasn't the best, but the group of characters made it entertaining to watch. Hell, most of them were pretty badass, and had you rooting for them.
2 - Yuri on Ice - So, I originally ranked this at three points, despite being absolutely sick of hearing about this show. This was average. It was a very average sports anime, with some pretty average, though heartwarming, yaoi moments. It was enjoyable, nonetheless. Despite its shoddy animation, I liked the choreography of some of the skating performances. The competition was interesting enough to keep me interested, and even with Yuri's innate spineless personality, he actually wasn't a painful protagonist to follow. But it was average. I've watched much better sports anime. I've seen much better yaoi moments, in better shows... And even in trying to keep the anti-hype bias out of my reasoning, I have to say that if I had watched this show, based on the popular opinions about it, I would have been massively disappointed. It's okay. That's not bad, but it's not a masterpiece.
1 - Koyomimonogatari - One of these days I'll start the Monogatari series. Needless to say, I haven't yet, and haven't watched this.

Group 8
4 - GATE S2 - This was a frustrating anime to watch for one reason. Every episode had eventually end. Even with season one it was the show I looked forward to the most each week, and that didn't change with this season. What also didn't change is a lot of the fun dynamics between the characters... with clear exceptions. Despite the clear superiority, it was still a really thrilling show to watch, not to see which side would win, but rather to see how the obviously superior side would win. And all I will show is that boy did Shino, one of the massively underrated soldiers, create one of the most satisfying moments in this anime.
3 - Re:Zero - Fucking Felix Argyle. Take that however you please. In all actual fucking seriousness, Felix, despite his very clear role as a supporting character, made this much more enjoyable. I don't have an issue with dark shows like Re:Zero. In fact, it was a very well told story, through the perspective of a protagonist who was clearly losing his mind with everything he went through. It was really intriguing watching his psychological spiral into madness, though not always pleasant to watch. Even understanding where he was coming from, or why he was doing what he was doing, it was still frustrating to watch. But Felix Fucking Argyle, yo. Just when you think this show is going to be a depressing mess of a character being psychologically fucked, Felix comes and makes things great again, with his adorableness. Every anime should have a criminally cute trap catboy, to just put a smile on your face when the anime is looking bleak. Every anime needs a Felix Argyle... At this point, I'm willing to admit I may have a problem... Also, Rem was there, I guess.
2 - Girlish Number - This... was an interesting show about voice acting. It wasn't bad, but much like Re:Zero it had a character who made decisions, or just thought things that I really wished she would learn from. Sometimes Chitose was unlikable, due to her attitude and delusions, but at the same time, that was what made her a great character I wanted to watch. Whether because I wanted her to be punished for her attitude, or learn to better herself, it kept me watching to see how far her overconfidence would go. Of course, the show wasn't just about her. It had other voice actors beside her, who, ironically, considering the plot of the anime, I didn't find nearly as interesting. Chitose was the centre of the show, and most of my enjoyment of it came from her, whether it was directly, or just other characters reacting to her. Most of the other aspects of the show didn't really catch my interest, and was mostly forgettable. A nice watch, but forgettable, except for Chitose, which some may say is worse than just being outright bad.
1 - Love Live! Sunshine!! - I seriously wanted to love this anime. Towards the end of it, I did start to like it to the extent that I had hoped I would, but that was only after having been dragged through the first half or so of this μ's tribute in disguise. I would have had no problem with the occasional callback to the original series, but what Sunshine did was remind you constantly of how these girls weren't μ's, of how these girls drew inspiration from μ's, of how each character was essentially a parallel of one of the μ's members. And hey... it's hard to argue against the fact that they drew several plot elements from the original series, some with slight changes, to make it look like they had put in some effort to not make a carbon copy... I wanted to like this show... Towards the end I did... But it was my most disappointing anime of its season, because of how much of a cash grab it felt like. It had the cute characters you would want in an idol anime. They had their quirky personalites, to be sure you would have your favourite girl/girls, which we all know are definitely Ruby and Dia... But, for me, I wasn't too big a fan of the songs, and, again, to reiterate, because it's important, it relied far too much on its predecessor, which, in my opinion, was to its overall detriment.
