What's not to get? Philip of Wong Fu productions already explained, "it's a group of really good looking Asian guys who can sing and dance."

Replace guys with girls and you're spot on.

Cute girls or guys (depends on what you're into, I'm for the former) dancing in brightly colored music videos singing some seriously good sounding pop music. Really, I was surprised when I heard Blackpink for the first time like 2 weeks ago and was like "damn this is fire!"

TELL me this doesn't make you feel good lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Amq-qlqbjYA

And I'm a hardcore hip hop fan, and this tickles my fancy.

I have no clue the appeal to K-pop either, sure I listen to it and it appears in foreign films (watch a lot of that), but that doesn't mean I'm going to rush out and obtain it or want more of it. sure it's alright and all, but some of the stuff I've learned, I have lost interest in supplying to that sort of business.

some things that happen is lip sync, others are, can't have a relationship, can't date, about five years you're tossed out, can't get married, have children... if you do this is a breach of contract you've lost contract and will face losses and fines.

note: this is based on other Asian music bands/singers as well not just to South Korea.

hot guys?! duh.

but sometimes they use more makeup than what an average woman would (that creeps me out).

also, the music is catchy.

I also had a hard time understanding the craze over kpop and their fans. I used to feel like people who liked kpop were shallow(bc kpop is huge on 'Visuals' and didn't know good music, usually when I listened to the lyrics and read the english translations I didn't feel like a majority of the songs had any good and deep meaning really. Never would I have thought I 'd be the crzy kpop fan that I am now but look at me now.

Honestly, it was a slow process for me. I only recently started appreciating kpop (December 2016) because of Rap Monster from BTS. He is one of the few who caught my attention, not by looks but by his mind. I really loved hearing his perspective of things and how he thought. The things that he says are so interesting and they make you think and it's almost as if you are their personal friend. He explains the meaning behind the lyrics that he writes and it all has a deep meaning to him. Aside from Rap Monster alone, they honestly give the feeling of friendship to many fans. They talk to us and share their lives with us and they write songs that a lot of people can relate to. Some songs touch up of topics such as feeling alone, depression, hardships and struggling in life...lots of things that everyday people themselves go through. Their BTS' themes for their most recent albums are quite meaningful too, such as 'WINGS', 'You Never Walk Alone', and their most recent one, which is 'Love Yourself'.

I like other groups too but BTS truly stands out to me. They are the reason I have become a part of this crazy kpop world. lol,

Even I am very clueless why they are so overhyped nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it, in fact I really like Epik High (because of their song).

Frankly I don't get it at all (doesn't bother me if people like it).

Maybe its just down to musical taste/preferences in the end.
