Not a matter of wanting something to be racist, it is racist and here is why why you pass a law the directly impacts those who are a minority because you do not wish them to participate in the most important action in their government you are being racist and discriminatory. This is no different then standing in line at a polling place and challenging someone legitimacy to vote.

I am not refer to the proof of residence I am refer to the cost of purchasing the ID since you fail to understand this is how it discriminates. Minorities and elderly so this doesn't just hit those of color it also impacts the old since many don't have the required ID to vote in states that pass these laws. The state also reduce the places where you can get these ID's making it hard to acquire, these are the realities.

Lastly the form of voter fraud this is designed to combat is rare so rare in fact that you have a better chance of having a TV falling out of the sky killing you. The last confirmed case of this form was last election committed by a man voting for Trump. That is how hard it is to do it is easily caught since you have to verify the person signature against the voting roles.

I have experience with how good they are at detecting this type of fraud my father and I share the same name when I move back in to help them with their illnesses the elections commission sent him an message asking why he had voted twice. The very type of fraud you claim this type of law would stop. Thought it wasn't fraud it was me voting took him five minutes to clear up. So yeah it is a law looking for a problem when there is none. Also it is racist just because you don't like that doesn't make it not racist.

Worth noting that this number in the millions is extrapolated from a total of 39 people who said they voted despite being non-citizens. With numbers that small, you have a pretty huge margin of error.

Also, virtually everybody actually involved in the original surveys disputes these claims.

Heres a blurb from the New York Times about an earlier study done with the same polling data:

[The repolling of the same group of people in 2010 and 2012] allowed the study’s critics to check whether people were consistent about their answer on the citizenship answer from year to year. If the people were consistent, they were probably noncitizens. If voters were inconsistent, it would be a sign that the category was contaminated by the tiny number of voters who misreported their citizenship.

There was not much consistency. Between 2010 and 2012, 20 voters switched from being citizens to noncitizens (an extremely unlikely transition), and 36 others switched from noncitizens to citizens (a more common transition, but one reported at a far greater rate than typically occurs). These shifting answers strongly bolster the theory that many of the respondents logged as noncitizens had responded in error.

But most important, among the 85 respondents who said they were noncitizens in both 2010 and 2012 — those most likely to really be noncitizens — none had voted in the 2010 midterm elections.

I'm rather surprised no one pointed out that this study had nothing to do with the 2016 election by Rujikin's own summery of the article.

Have yet to see any concrete evidence of these so called claims. That being said I have no idea how so many adults are supposedly functioning in society without any form of identification. I mean, I can understand the very elderly, but are there millions of people living completely under a rock? I really don't get it.

Until we have a government regulated id cards like every single country does on earth we will have this problem. Every country I lived in has a government id card system. I don't understand why people are so against it.
