Also "I want to be a judge." is a good argument. I want to be a a bird. Well? I'm waiting.

I mean. Damn.

This woman graduated from Yale law school and has 34 years of experience as a lawyer (how most judges start their careers). She's more than qualified for the position.

If you want to be a bird so bad go try jumping off something really high and flapping your arms.

You missed my point. If you are physically unable to do something, well, that's it, you are physically unable to do it, it doesn't matter what you want or how qualified you are. And as I can jump off a building, flap my arms and splatter on the ground, she can lug her oxygen tank to court room, crap her pants and die of a heart attack while climbing the two steps there are, but neither one of us should do it.

No, I think YOU missed the point. Anyone can have a heart attack or be incontinent, and still perform this particular job. Oxygen tanks in court rooms, I'm sure it happens enough...

And also, let's stop for ONE fucking moment and look at the sources. Daily Caller is not exactly news nor is it unbiased.

So yeah... point and laugh at the fat woman... hurr hurr hurr.. she's absolutely clownish!!!

Just thinking out loud here but couldn't they set up some sort of video conference system for her? So that she could be in another room or even at home and not have to subject other people to her literally shitting on the floor? I'm all for letting people have a chance to work but if you can't climb the stairs to your position and you consistently soil yourself in front of everyone then I'd say this is one of the cases where, no, you shouldn't be working in this job.

As much as I usually agree with you, either of you two lashing out over a story that, as you mention, is corrupted, is ridiculous. If anyone can find a more truthful sourse, that'd be great and opinions can be ammended. This, however, is what we're currently having to work with, and I don't think any of us have good enough psychic powers to know everything.

Now, however much this story is supposedly true; it seems to me that, if it is, constant medical care is best for her, not trying to push herself to fulfill a career that could very, very easily kill her.

Yeah Ms. Salty, tell me what my point was, because clearly, who would know better what I was thinking than... some person I've just met for the first time. *sigh*

Yes, everyone can die, no doubt about that, but not everyone is quite so likely to drop dead with heart attack the any minute as sickly older obese people under stress. And while shitting yourself wherever you walk can also happen to everyone for various reasons, you don't want to see fairly high positioned state representative / public servant doing it, doubly so while they are currently doing their job. The point, dear Watson, is that you do not want a a public servant of such import and representative "power" to be someone who is shitting themselves regularly while on duty and is extremely likely to die before their term is up. Let's not even mention the inherent unpleasantries this all brings to the other people working in the same court.

You are in such a dire and, let's be honest here, disgusting condition, but desire to work still? Well, she's a lawyer by trade, and if she's a decent one at that, there are so many open doors when it comes to working from home/office. But being a judge due to calling in political favour / affirmative action... No. Sorry.

PS: As for the source, I really don't care, if it's not this woman in this situation, there's 1000 at any moment elsewhere in very, very similar one and I am trying to apply my points on all of them. There are simply thing some people cannot and should not do due to their circumstances and the wiser people recognise that and step down before the time of humiliation comes.

I'm just more upset at how low brow it is getting. This judge is fat, our first lady is a whore... etc...

The point that was being made and that I stand by is that as long as someone can complete the job that they desire in an effective manner, it should be ok and that's that.

Beyond that, as you stated, and I stated, this is NOT a reputable story... But gossip and rivalries have everyone jumping onto this to point and laugh at the opposition, and it's irritating.

"Getting"? It's been like this for a while, sadly.

Yeah, I'm leaning that way myself. The basic facts seem to be true but the rest is high school gossip level.

And despite the "New York Dems" thing, its actually Dems that are criticizing the mayor for it in the story. It sounds like the mayor wasn't entirely forthcoming with the council on her current health when they voted on her.

Dude, when you shit yourself and splash it on the floor, and I really don't care what medical issues you might have, you should prolly discretely ask for a janitor and apologize, not go "Wow, there's shit here, you people should do your job better.". Especially when, apparently, everyone around you knows YOU did that.

Also "I want to be a judge." is a good argument. I want to be a a bird. Well? I'm waiting.

I mean. Damn.

It sounds like she was appointed because everyone's initial opinion of her was that she could not do the job due to health. The council rejected her approval but the mayor pushed it through. She was the guys campaign treasurer so it sounds like it was just a good ol' political appointment.
