Seriously? Cheap Chinese food next door? I'd grab one to go every day if it's 5 dollars or less

The really cheap stuff is in the Asian markets in the city. So i have to go a bit further for that. But it isn't that far. But some of the places near by are fairly cheap. There's lots of places to get Vietnamese rolls and that.
Like anything some places are more expensive than others. Like some Asian restaurants are pretty up there as far as you can chose your fish or lobster out of the fish tank. But not many are like that. and like $300 crabs lol
There's cheap little sushi places then very very expensive ones. Japanese food tends to be more expensive than Chinese and Vietnames and etc more often than not it seems.

Seems when i was younger it was mostly Chinese places but i reckon Vietnamese, Thai and Indian are the most common now.
Some places seem to do a combination. Japanese and Korean seem less common. In my state anyhow.

lol. I swear you guys have bigger ones and we have nothing as scary as bloody bears! i mean there's crocadiles and sharks and that but unless you're in the outback or occean you've got bugger all to worry about here.

Brown snakes are probably the biggest danger.

for me dogs snakes monkey brains stuff like that I do live in shanghai nearly above a night market so I pretty much got food covered. including my overdose of MSG if I want. If you really want to impress a Chinese start eating strange things that most westerners wont eat.

I'd be keen. i mean i'd try dog and snake. I might give the brains a miss though. Some Asian food i dont like. I think that cold jelly fish salad is eeew and i dont like chicken feet.
I've never been game to eat a fish eye ball when the serve the whole fish with the head still attatched.
Have you eaten animal penis's? not sure if i'd try that one either ^^;
I've never tried snake. I have had eel.
I think most places here dont really serve anything that strange. Eel and jelly fish and chicken feet probably the strangest. I guess in non Asian places i've seen and tried Ox's tounge.
Iam pretty shit with chop sticks.

We go to a really good dim sum place often. I love it. Their congee is soooo good. And I usually get a lotus warped sticky rice to go

I love wrapped sticky rice too

But for me it's bbq duck and crispy pork on steamed rice as my favourite.

I haven't had enough to say, and I'm not sure how traditional what little I have had really is. I've been to a place twice that had a buffet with "chinese food" but also had american food for the picky coworker. I liked most things, crab/lobster rangoon?, generals tso's chicken, peanut butter chicken, beef something, pork something....lots of things. I've tried one korean dish, but it was years ago so don't remember the name. So spicy, I loved it! I have had steamed pork buns, indian(hot) and japanese(sweet) style curry, even dated a half japanese girl once...wish she took better care of her body and wanted kids so it would have worked out! Probably my least favorite were balut and sushi, which will probably just take some getting use to.

Love all kinds of Asian cuisine.
