I know this is a weird question, but from in an effort to break free from the shackles of my boredom, I thought, "I should choose an anime and watch it backward." Have You ever done this? Why? Do you think it was a better experience? Thanks if you post, even though I'm already slightly regretting this, and expect no replies whatsoever.

No, seems pointless when I am either confused about how the world works, who the characters are, and the repetitive dialogue that emphasizes details that help me infer with great accuracy what the beginning was like, or what part of the series was actually significant enough to be mentioned. That, and it does not work for airing shows, as I found out.

Yes.

Why? Because I had completely ignored it and everyone kept talking about it, and then it had a 'curve' to the story which was supposed to be a big thing. So I watched that episode. Then I wante to know how they go there so I watched the one before it, then I wanted to know how they got to that one....and so on. Stupid I know, but it just happend that way.

No, I can't stand that sort of thing. I even look up chronological orders for series that broadcast out of them like Haruhi Suzumiya and Hidamari Sketch. The latter taking a huge amount of pre-planning to watch in that manner because it's SUPER out of order.

Takes too much effort for a series I'm rewatching. I'd never do that intentionally with a show I haven't seen before.

Though, I suppose I and a lot of other people who watched Toonami inadvertently watched DBZ and Dragonball in the wrong order.

Watching Baccano backwards would be interesting. Most of it is such a chronological hodgepodge that it could be enjoyable rewatched out of order.

No, and I don't see why anybody would. If anything, only do it for episodic shows like Space Dandy or Joker Game, but in general there's no reason to.

Uh, not purposely backward.

In the past when I would see anime programming on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, I didn't always catch every episode of a series in order.

It then unintentionally became a mental game of piecing events and plot points together. Had a weird time with Neon Genesis Evangelion. lol

This is essentially how I watched FZ. I dropped it while it was airing, later I watched an episode near the end where something interesting happened, and then went backward from there while waiting for the last two or so episodes.

Also, since most manga-based stories are "cliffhangered", there's not much entertainment going from confusion in Ep. 12, to already knowing what's going to happen at the end of Ep. 11.

If you're bored with a show, it's not the problem of what order the episodes are in.

No, but it actually sounds kinda fun. Maybe I might do it for a slice-of-life series or something else that's not too heavy on plot.
