Wow. All of the twisted expressions, the sexy and eerie OP and ED, the numbers, strategy and luck game. It's interesting how they were able to keep tension up without the "gimmick/angle" of a straight up death game. It seems like there are a lot of the characters with some really strong personalities and dynamics, and then the super bland male MC who is just there to narrate and give exposition. But yeah no for sure, looking forward to the rest of this.

I'm not sure about this one. The concept is cool and the OP was excellent but the show itself just left me sort of cold. Ryouta is just a waste of space and the less we get of him the better. As "crazy" as it is, if the first episode is any indication it feels like it may end up being fairly predictable. I am definitely eager to see more but I actually came away from episode 1 a little disappointed.

Oh, and I hated the ED. I don't often skip OPs or EDs but I can already say I'm skipping the ED next week.

He's not really the main character, he's more an extension of the viewer for Yumeko. This show is alll about Yumeko.

Maybe it's just me, but I kept getting Betelgeuse vibes from those crazed expressions.

The intro to the school and characters was fairly standard, no tricks, no real surprises, just a bit of game-play analysis by a transfer student. I wonder if the analysis is what will be building the story, where the "conflict" is described through statistical and probability strategies. If that's the case, sounds like it'll be a 'grown-up' version of Yu-Gi-Oh.

Looks like the first episode is going to go beat-for-beat with the manga. Which is fine for me, seeing that insanity animated is gorgeous.

Episode 1

Oops, forgot to comment on this. Uh, well...this show is so blunt and mentally overbearing.

I think this is adapted from a seinen manga magazine, so I can definitely feel the thrilling aspects all over the place. I do feel like it might a bit too over-the-top, though. Perhaps inclusion of blood or even sexual content will be thrown in later on.

But, the game is the name here and how they play or gamble will keep me around as long as they keep the methods fresh and interesting. Also, I heard Sayo Yamamoto did the OP? If so, holy-shit!

The OP is a wonderland of impactful imagery that never gets boring to look at! Very interesting!!

Netflix man, they need to sort there priorities out with streaming anime, surely they know us Otaku's can't wait 4 months for a show that airs now. Anyway the first episode overall was a pretty nice adaptation of the first chapter in the manga and they definitely nailed them faces! I know for a fact that next week is gong to get even more dramatic, in every way.

LOVE, love, love it! Love the OP, love the ED and everything in between. Love the gambling, love the art style, and am already in love with the psycho, gorgeous, genius MC. This show was everything I hoped for and more, already calling it my AOTS and probably my AOTY.

This was pretty enjoyable, though a bit over the top and predictable. Not sure how much of a plot this show can get with the premise as they didnt really reveal much, only the first episode.

Loved the intro, didnt care much for the ending. But not being able to understand Japanese, maybe the lyrics give it more umph, other wise it was meh.

The heroine of Kakegurui needs help. Protagonists these days are so psychotic, and Yumeko is the worst of this year. Back in my day, I remember when all you need to win was to believe in the heart of the cards. If you lost, you just didn't believe hard enough.

Whatever happened to having faith in not only humanity, but in inanimate pieces of overpriced paper?

Don't know what you're talking about. Games were even more sadistic 2 decades ago.
