The failing NYTimes just reported that people thinking of coming to the USA illegally are rethinking their plans. Thanks to tougher immigration enforcement they no longer want to come to the USA and are instead staying put!!! I'm glad we are finally stopping this flood by ENFORCING our laws.

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/07/03/world/americas/honduras-migration-border-wall.html?referer=http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/07/03/nyt-chides-trump-youve-made-it-so-scary-for-illegals-to-come-to-u-s-that-theyre-staying-home/

Good maybe we can get this illegal immigration problem under control so wages in the USA can start rising again! Being able to hire illegals for $3 under the table is wrecking our labor market with next to slave labor.

I've made several posts on this in the past that you seem to willfully ignore. Illegal immigration has been on the decline since nearly 2009. This is mostly to do with changes in Mexican/US economy over the last decade.

And? Does that mean the NYT is posting fake news again?

The number of illegals should be zero btw.

Edit: Also he was not talking about Mexico

Mexicans comprise the bulk of illegal immigrants and the hot zone for all in the area looking to get in. Frankly, What I'm saying is, Trump isn't to blame at all. Westernizing/stabilizing economies means less incentives to risk hopping the border. And with the hit to the economy it sort of pushed it into what was going to happen anyway regardless of 'big boy trumps' tough guy flex talk.

Reducing illegal immigration is far from a silver bullet to fixing issues with wages and unemployment. Illegal immigration is not wrecking wages or employment levels and has a minor impact on both of those things at most. There are both positive and negative economic effects to illegal immigration, but in totality it works out to not really have much of an impact on the overall economy.
