Same problem. It was one reason I got the Roku device in the first place.
Phone and tablet stream fine.

Oh man... I thought it was just me! We have tons of problems with streaming on this Insignia Roku TV though, so I figured it was just the TV. Can anyone confirm if the problem does or does not exist on a regular Roku device?

I have never had significant problems on either Roku device I've used. The only times I experience trouble is at times when the the service as a whole is affected (like Saturday nights when there's so much traffic that all devices and the website are not functioning adequately.)

This started happening back last March or so, when they switched to AWS and upped their bitrate. I was disappointed, too.. Some Roku sticks have the problem too, which makes sense, because the TVs have "stick" processors in them (Roku "BOX" is not the same as TV). It does work just fine with a Roku-3 though (except Saturday nights for about 3 hours once DBZ comes out)

A quick question for those who were esculated to a Senior specialist! Was that the last message you ever received from support in regards to this or any issue? The reason I ask I also have a reply from support stating I was being esculated only to never hear back from anyone ever again. Also after replies from moderator Lorreen stating the web site and coders or engineering staff are separate. I think this statement was meaning that no one from the coders section ever views the help site forums. I am just wondering if a Senior help specialist exists or it’s just the end point of any contact on a problem issue?

Hmm.. Well, last spring I started having trouble streaming to my Android device. Certain shows would enter an infinite loop where the video would pause, and the audio would loop basically until I stopped hoping it would work. Sometimes the video would play for a few seconds to a few minutes after a loop. In essence, if I was able to watch a full video on my phone, it'd take around 50 minutes to watch a 20-25 minute episode. Essentially the correspondence was "Does it work now?" I'd tell them no, and then I wouldn't hear back for several weeks. And then they'd ask again. Rinse and repeat. I still have this trouble, but less often. I'm unsure if it's because I'm not watching anything popular or if they've started to resolve the issue at almost a year later.

I have to admit, I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of support. Honestly, if they would just say "We have a known issue, and we're working on it, but we don't have a resolution yet" rather than dicking us around or not even addressing the issue, I'd be much happier. I'd be sad, but I understand. I work for a technical consulting company, so I get it.

VRV works better, but there's a lot of content missing. If all of Crunchyroll's content was on VRV, I'd have far less complaint as I'd have a work around. Actually, the only thing that'd bum me out is missing the "random" button other than liking the layout of Crunchyroll more.

Frankly, I feel like I'm over a barrel.

Do you have any examples of CR shows still not on VRV now? They finally brought over all the missing Toei content, that should have been most, if not all of it...

Funimation content, yes, there is still a lot of that missing, but not their own that I can find.

You're right, my mistake. I didn't realize they moved them over. I'm not seeing anything obvious at this point.

I guess I should just try and get used to using VRV and call it a day.

My issue is I've had the same exact problems happen with the VRV app as well, I'd try to watch a new simulcast, or new stuff from their VRV Selection channel only for it to get stuck on Retrieving.

Weird thing is this problem does not exist for my Roku Stick that I use on my second TV, just my main Roku TV.

The Crunchyroll app was previously working on my Insignia Roku TV. I primarily streamed via Android devices for a few months before discovering, as of 2 days ago, the Roku app no longer loads videos when using my Insignia TV. The Roku app still works with my Roku 2XD, and other streaming apps operate flawlessly with my Insignia TV, so this issue is on Crunchyroll's end. Crunchyroll support has not provided any follow up to my attempt to contact them other than an automated reply. I'm hoping customer service hasn't been eliminated since the merger and that there is a plan to actually resolve this issue, especially given people have been posting in this thread for the better part of a year.

I've actually had this problem for almost two years now. I've been in contact with support on 2 separate occasions and what essentially happens is they go full circle. Tell me to try something which doesn't work, then tell me to try a bunch of other things and eventually they get back to the point where they ask me to try the first thing they recommended. I've pretty much given up that they will ever fix this, but I'm attempting for a third time now to see what they say.
