Just another in a long line of senseless killings. Police officers know what they are signing up for when they take the job. The general public never expect to get gunned down by those who are sworn to protect and serve.

I feel police officers and the frightened, trigger happy lot among them must not discharge their weapons until fired upon. And since cops have proven to be as dishonest and the average person caught doing something wrong cameras should be rolling at all times. They have the right to take lives so they should be held at the highest of standards.

No preemptive strikes, no "but they had a knife or they were reaching ". Police officers that treat life like fodder should be prevented from using lethal force at every turn with safeguards to protect the public.

This is what happens when police training has been handed over to israeli companies decades ago. We wonder why cops treat people like israelies treat semites. I mean, "palestinians."

What offends me every bit as much is the play to arm the shit out of all local police, by the feds, in an attempt to bulwark against the state nat'l guard. Travel to whatever podunk broke as hell town all around the country, and in the middle of myriad failed businesses, there's the brand new police cruiser with all the latest gadgetry.

and oh btw, "you schvartzes all get to pay for it" (meaning EVERYONE)

Don't beq questions in public, it's not polite.

And you know you're officially your parents, when you start quoting old Dragnet episodes:

Was just reading this one in the news. What the hell happened?!

He shot her through the door of the police car while she was talking to his partner. Multiple times.

What possible justification was there for it? Even in his own head?

yeah these stories and a lot more are quite sad.
I have heard about similar cases where they come in armed and in full alert mode even if it was just a "could you please check something" calls.
To those with the guy that was shot in his car with the family in it, when he was about to take out his identity card or something.

About the title "Police should not fire unless fired upon", I think you do know that's not really possible at least they could take some more risks sometimes of course so that some of these things doesn't happen.

if only " criminals should not fire unless fired upon"

in a profession where you can get shot while eating lunch, filling up gas, pulling people over, etc.. You are a target when you put on that uniform., so i'll keep to a case by case basis.

there will be trash in any profession since they are humans after all, but just because of a few bad officers I should label all officers as bad ?

so if you look at the FBI most wanted list? what do you think ? All humans are scumbags just from looking at the list ?

If he just shot her through the door that would actually sound *better*. As it sounds like he just leaned over his partner who was in the driver seat and shot her while his partner was talking to her at the window. Without any warning even to his partner.

0.38 seconds. That is the average trained offices reaction time to a shooter.
0.23 seconds is the average time a cop has to react to someone drawing a gun and getting a shot off.

Planned actions are faster than reactions.
