Berenstein for me, but i remember there was this comercial on tv where the announcer would pronounce it 'BearSTAIN' and that really bugged the crap out of me like 'why are you pronouncing it 'bearSTAIN' when its 'Berenstein' whats with the random emphasis?' and then a few years later that theory came out and i'm all 'was my whole life a lie?!'

My nephew handed me a Berenstain Bears book to read to them, and I stared at if for a moment, mentally freaking out, because I read these all the time as a kid, and I was wondering when did they change their last name? Why? But apparently they didn't. Then I told my sister later, and she remembers it the way I do.
