Yea not going to happen anytime soon. I can't imagine flying cars when you have restricted visibility such as Seattle. The visibility can go down to less than a 1/4 mile. Planes have to fly using ground-based navigation to fly into low visibility. It would be a long time before we see anything like that.

that assumes that we will not be able control the weather in the far future

True. Weather is caused by differences in temperature. If we were to create a bubble city that blocks heat or sunlight. then we can adjust which type of weather we can control.
