I'm having mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, their communication was horrible (almost non-existent) on the other hand, they had some shows that CR couldn't get for us.

I'm still avoiding Prime Video and their ridiculously limited payment options. Viewster only seems to get older titles so while their catalogue has some interesting stuff, I don't think they will be simulcasting. NicoNico just had a Worldwide licence on the first Sailor Moon Crystal so that's not much of an alternative either.

So hopefully Netflix will step up and get some more licences for our region because some studios seem to have such an everlasting grudge against Crunchyroll that I don't think CR will be able to expand and fill the gap.

*salutes*

You had Dunbine and L-Gaim, Daisuki, if only for a little while. Turn A Gundam, too. For that, and for Love Live! Sunshine!!, I shall remember you fondly. Join Anime Sols in Anime Streaming Valhalla!

I am curious what may happen to any titles that were exclusive to Daisuki.

Before they launched, it was reported they wished to reach 3 million members in 5 years. They didn't even make it that far, and I doubt they hit that 3 million mark.

RIP DAISUKI. Hate how you basically linked through Hulu but you were a decent service.

Are you thinking of someone else, such as Viz? Hulu is a US only service, while Daisuki streamed internationally.

While Daisuki did place some titles on Hulu (just as Funimation did), the titles on their site were streamed by them.

I'm sorry to hear this. I actually started using daisuki, net because crunchyroll's site wouldn't load, had lots of server issues or wouldn't work right and played lots of commercials where daisuki.net would almost always work with limited commercials.

No surprise really, especially considering they got nothing this season.

It was overall a poorly supported attempt.

This. Daisuki was a botch on a lot of levels. I'm unsurprised it went down.

So what's going to happen to the shows that had been on Daisuki and were sub-licensed to Crunchyroll?

Those were done by ACJ (company who owns Daisuki) so I imagine they're probably safe as they did other things aside from run Daisuki so they should still be around.

I want to cry, I see today DAISUKI.net http://www.daisuki.net/ has ended his service...
Why Daisuki.net, who you can watch anime free, in HD, without subtitles has shut down?!

Well, there were too many problems with their player. That, and that just about everything there could be watched in other places. Not to mention, their short-lived subsciption service didn’t provide much value. So pretty much, it wasn’t financially feasible to keep it running. Hopefully, the exclusive material there can find new homes soon.

I don't know why you'd want to, but S1 is also on Yahoo View and Hulu

Have you checked Netflix? It's on Netflix here in Japan now.
