I'm not sure how this will benefit Crunchyroll, though. Note that CR is also streaming Haikyuu there (which is also licensed by Sentai Filmworks).

Funimation streams there too right? Just gets more eyes on their shows.

After you brought up Haikyu I noticed only Season 3 is listed

While I found the page for S1+2 combined which is from Sentai

Season 3 is on HIDIVE so I doubt Sentai lost the rights to it. No idea what's up with that.

Well, FUNimation is more of a disk publisher, so more exposure for their shows is good for them. Meanwhile, CR is primarily focused on streaming. But, I guess more exposure for CR's shows would benefit them for long. Meanwhile, about the Haikyuu case, maybe CR is the master licensor for S3 while Sentai is the master licensor for S1 and S2.

I posted about this on Twitter and Miles responded with this: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2017-01-24/crunchyroll-announces-winter-2017-anime-lineup/.111421

I asked what about this: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-10-07/sentai-filmworks-licenses-haikyu-3rd-season/.107393 and I'll edit if he responds.

You are correct. CR is master licensor for season three, while Sentai is master licensor for seasons one and two. Sentai still has some streaming rights to season three, and will be the one dubbing and releasing it on home video.

it is still sourced to crunchy roll so ad rev still goes to them, excluding ad rev theyd certainly get paid royalties for it and probably a large sum up front. (all conjecture but I would settle for no less if I was in this deal)

I remember back when I was using Hulu couple years ago the anime they would stream was always a week behind just like their live TV shows its their policy.
