After his fight with Izuku Midoriya in the finals of the school tournament, Shoto Todorki, who has a half ice/ half fire querk, used his fire side which he swore to reject because of his abusive father, and with his new advantage won the tournament.

Midoriya convinced him to do this by triggering an emotional response and inner conflict in Todoroki.

After the fight Todori visits his mother in hospital and through some revelation decides to continue to use his fire side in future battles.

Do you think he should have done this? Feel free to discus

He should have. Just because Endeavor's a jackass that uses fire, it doesn't make fire bad, it makes him a jackass. Todoroki saw it as his dad's power, which was why he refused to use it, to spite him. What Izuku did was convince Todoroki that it wasn't Endeavor's power, it was his, and his alone. That is why he used it. Honestly, it wouldn't have done him any good to abstain from using it. It's him rejecting part of himself.

I'm not sure that made any sense, but TL:DR: Yes, because if he didn't, his psychological issues weren't going to get better.
