The most fucked up thing I heard in a long time...

The 18 piglets and two sows survived the fire in Wiltshire in February, which saw 60 tonnes of hay catch fire.

In a controversial move, farm manager Rachel Rivers thanked the Pewsey fire team by giving them sausages.

Sounds fair, to me. Well, it sounds like just the thing a farmer would do to return the favor, by giving them the freshest sausage they'll likely ever have. Pigs raised for meat are usually butchered when they're six months old, which lines up with when the firefighters got the sausage.

this reminds me of a story

This guy was driving down a country road and passing a farm house he sees and old farmer sitting on his porch with a three legged pig next to him. So te guy stops and goes up to the farmer asking about the pig

"well about a year ago we had a fire and this pig rushed into the burning house save me and my whole family then ran all the way to rown to get the fire department"

Th guy looking very impressed asked "Did the pig loose his leg in the fire?"
the farmer goes "Nope that happen afterwards"

The guy getting a little frustrated asked again "So how did the pig loose his leg?"
The farmer looks at him and goes "Well you see with a pig this good you don't want to eat him all at once"

A literal instance out of the fire and into the frying pan.

This is one of the major reason for why people become vegetarian: domesticate animals gain value only when they could be killed. Another major reason for vegetarians is financial conservation and a third is environmental conservation.

So the pigs were pulled out of a fire, were raised to weight normally, slaughtered normally, and a portion was given to the firefighters who saved this guy's investment as thanks (again as tends to be normally done).
This is how it goes. Silver Spoon showed us that.

Makes me wish I would have saved some piglets. It is breakfast time and I'm hungry.

Hey, thanks for saving our pigs, oh please, help yourself to some of our pigs. The irony is magical.
