Haikyu!! TV Anime Serves Up a Fourth Season in January of 2020

Haikyu!!, the TV anime based on the popular volleyball manga by Haruichi Furudate, is returning to Japanese TV for a fourth season in January of 2020, and a new cast member, the Japanese TV schedule, and a new key visual for the upcoming Haikyu!! Riku vs. Kuu original animation video have been revealed.

In Haikyu!!, voice actor Kazuyuki Okitsu plays Suguru Daishou, the captain of the Tomi Academy High School volleyball club.



The original Haikyu!! manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Viz Media. The previous three seasons of the Haikyu!! TV anime as well as the Haikyu!! theatrical anime films are directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and feature animation production by Production I.G. Crunchyroll describes the story of Haikyu!! as follows:


Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the "King of the Court" Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.

The fourth season of Haikyu!! will broadcast in Japan as part of the Mainichi Broadcasting System / Tokyo Broadcasting System "Super Animeism" programming block on Fridays at 1:25am JST beginning in January of 2020. Haikyu!! Riku vs. Kuu will be released on Bluray and DVD in Japan on January 22, 2020.
