"Hey, Georgie! Want a balloon?"
The latest horror movie monster to get the cute anime girl treatment in Kotobukiya's Bishoujo Series line of figures is none other than Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the otherworldly antagonist of Stephen King's 1986 novel IT and its film adaptations.
The Bishoujo Horror Pennywise figure is designed by Shunya Yamashita and sculpted by Keiki Fujimoto. The 1:7 scale figure and stands approximately 255 millimeters (about 10 inches) tall, and it is made of PVC, ABS, and iron. The base is designed to look like a pool of blood, and if you look closely you can even see the paper boat that Bill made for his younger brother, Georgie, floating down there.
The Bishoujo Horror Pennywise figure is currently available for pre-order, with the final products scheduled to begin shipping in October of 2020. The figure retails for 12,000 yen (about $112 US) plus tax.
Does the fact that the world's most famous fictional murder-clown is also a cute anime girl make you more likely or less likely to reach your hand into that sewer grate to grab a balloon? Let us know in the comments section below.
