  • Like most great kid's shows...
this title can be viewed on many different levels and I found it was very good in a lot of different ways. Be aware, parents, that some of the episodes might be a little too scary for the little bits.

I have always been a bit fascinated with the Japanese concept of yokai, and I started watching it for that at first While the characters do come off as cartoony at first, if you stick with the ...

Terrible Finale - Western Yokai arc was great
This is a very interesting anime. My favorite Arc was the Western Yōkai Arc (Episode #27~Episode #37) - Those episodes were great. The Final episode of the series destroys the entire anime. I absolutely hated how they ended the anime.

    Spoilers:

Mana - loses all of her memories
Humans - blame some crazy yokai for destroying the town never realizing what really happened.
    Yokai - Many were ...

    slow plot development
this show is just a constant repeat of new ghost, fix problem, move on. the "main plot" is thrown aside constantly for random ghost stories and trauma or drama is easily solved.

this site wont let me stop writing until i reach enough characters now.

  • I love the story line!
I enjoy the start in the black and white and then later to color. The stories are intriguing of how he has to defeat the enemy. He has wonderful friends and the characters play well together. It is fun and adorable in some ways. I enjoy the tune of the opening and am happy that they over come whatever the obstacle is.

  • A Great and Enjoyable Show!
Personally, I find this show extremely enjoyable, and I love the fact that it's a mix of several different genres, not to mention the dark undertones and horror elements mixed in with an interesting and fun story. I'm glad Toei decided to animate yet another Gegege no Kitaro show, they've really outdone themselves this time. As a fan of the whole franchise, I'm always glad to see new content of ...

  • Enjoyable continuation of an incredible body of work.
Overall, I love it. This show is very close to the level of horror that Nightmare Before Christmas and Coco fans enjoy, but not quite as dark as Pan's Labyrinth, Buffy, or SPN. The inspiring manga is darker and creepier, especially the earliest stories (Masami Ito, kamishibai, 1933-35; Shigeru Mizuki, rental manga 1954-1964 and magazine -70?; Kankou Takeuchi and Masami Ito also contributed in ...

A Magical Show about Everyday Horrors
After doing some research, Kitaro is a popular older manga series about a yokai boy who solves problems between the human and spirit sides of the plane. The original manga was an homage to Japanese folklore and been adapted in various media from radio plays to movies and other anime. This version of the property once again is an homage to traditional folklore, but it utilizes the monsters in a ...

  • Middle School Horror with heart
Utterly delightful. Shigeru Mizuki's classic brought into the modern world, Gegege no Kitaro is playful, scary & optimistic. Morally instructive horror stories for kids, written with vivid imagination, compassionate traditionalism and blood-chilling thrills.

GeGeGe no Kitaro can be enjoyed by anyone
Its hard to write something that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults, but this show does its job surprisingly well. Overall Its a good show that has some glaring flaws that stop me from giving it 5 stars. Lets start with the good first its a creative show on both the visuals and writing aspects, and the show has some wonderful commentary about Japanese culture. Now for the flaws the cat-girl ...

A little gem in the rough
This has been great so far. Not a fan of the art style (character style?) but it works well with the story and it has grown on me. Solid paranormal anime. I've watched a lot and this one stands out just as yu yu hakusho did. Plus the main characters for both have a similar move which had to have been done on purpose. Good clean family fun hahaha
