  • Enjoyable continuation of an incredible body of work.
Overall, I love it. This show is very close to the level of horror that Nightmare Before Christmas and Coco fans enjoy, but not quite as dark as Pan's Labyrinth, Buffy, or SPN. The inspiring manga is darker and creepier, especially the earliest stories (Masami Ito, kamishibai, 1933-35; Shigeru Mizuki, rental manga 1954-1964 and magazine -70?; Kankou Takeuchi and Masami Ito also contributed in ...

A Magical Show about Everyday Horrors
After doing some research, Kitaro is a popular older manga series about a yokai boy who solves problems between the human and spirit sides of the plane. The original manga was an homage to Japanese folklore and been adapted in various media from radio plays to movies and other anime. This version of the property once again is an homage to traditional folklore, but it utilizes the monsters in a ...

  • Middle School Horror with heart
Utterly delightful. Shigeru Mizuki's classic brought into the modern world, Gegege no Kitaro is playful, scary & optimistic. Morally instructive horror stories for kids, written with vivid imagination, compassionate traditionalism and blood-chilling thrills.

GeGeGe no Kitaro can be enjoyed by anyone
Its hard to write something that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults, but this show does its job surprisingly well. Overall Its a good show that has some glaring flaws that stop me from giving it 5 stars. Lets start with the good first its a creative show on both the visuals and writing aspects, and the show has some wonderful commentary about Japanese culture. Now for the flaws the cat-girl ...

A little gem in the rough
This has been great so far. Not a fan of the art style (character style?) but it works well with the story and it has grown on me. Solid paranormal anime. I've watched a lot and this one stands out just as yu yu hakusho did. Plus the main characters for both have a similar move which had to have been done on purpose. Good clean family fun hahaha

    It’s Not Just for Kids
My Japanese’s co-worker commented, when he heard me humming the Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro theme song, that he was fascinated that I was watching a kids show. Judging by his surprise I am guessing that he didn’t think it was a show an adult could enjoy. Indeed I think he considered the show to be childish.
This is the six [wow] iteration of Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro, I am not sure if the previous instalments ...

    Basically a rehash of boredom
Instead of getting something good and original, we got what was ghost stories rehash with just added chibbi junk and nothing necessary. We got a show that replaced one of the best shows of the decade with pure unadulterated rehash with stories that go nowhere and always end with a crappy now you know end after every episode. Once the episodes end you're left with a "huh is that why" feeling . ...

  • This anime is kawaii
So far so good! This reboot got me into the GeGeGe no Kitaro series and this is one of the best animated one out of all the series in my opinion. You don't have to watch the older series to understand it. This season manages to bring in new fans while pleasing the older fans who know some or all of the previous seasons/movies.

THE MOST AMAZING ANIME OF 2018
To be honest this anime caught my attention when I was told it was about yokai and from there on its stayed that way. Although the 4th episode is like a bit of a filler I still do enjoy the other three <3. My overall review is I enjoy the characters and their designs and their relationships to the plot<33
