Welcome to the house of night!!!
Its full of fantasy/ horror/ romance/ ect.
This series is soon to have 9 books in all. And if you dont read it then your totally missing out on one of the best books ever written. EVER. Heres the summeries for the 4 (soon to be 5 in March) books P.C and Kristen Cast have written so far.
The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres have always existed. In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampyre, that is, if she makes it through the Change. Not all of those who are Chosen make the Change. It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.
Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend...or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.
Dark forces are at work at the House of Night, and fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school take a mysterious turn. Those who appear to be friends are turning out to be enemies. And oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. So begins the gripping third installment of this “highly addictive series” (Romantic Times), in which Zoey’s mettle will be tested like never before. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn’t have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity. Speaking of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare position of having three boyfriends. Mix a little blood lust into the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social, and eventually emotional disaster for Zoey and cut her off from life at the House of Night to... Hellish Life! Just when it seems things couldn’t get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith, and Zoey’s horrid stepfather in particular, are tired of living side-by-side with vampyres. Not to mention, Zoey is having a bit of boy trouble. But, as Zoey and her friends so often find out, how things appear rarely reflects the truth...
Zoey has lost all of her boyfriends, when Erik Night caught her cheating on him, Loren Blake was killed and her imprint with Heath Luck was broken, and has also lost her friends' trust for lying to them. Neferet is up to no good, as proven when Aphrodite receives a vision about Zoey's grandmother writing a poem which was originally a song about dangerous creatures which have the form of ravens. Zoey grows closer to Aphrodite, but also regains her friends' trust when she explains why she could not be truthful to them. A new character, James Stark, is introduced as well. Stark becomes friends with Zoey, only to die in her arms when his body rejects the change. Zoey confides in him as he is about to pass away that he may not be permanently dead, and that he may return as a new kind of fledgling. In the end, this proves to be true as Stark returns as an undead creature and follows Neferet's command to injure Stevie Rae and causes her to bleed onto the ground, making it appear as if the earth is bleeding, thus rendering a line in the poem true. This returns the spirit that the poem spoke of back to the surface. Zoey leads her friends, including her former boyfriend Erik Night, away from the House of Night and plans to defeat Neferet and save the House of Night.
What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil, and all he wanted was you? At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey’s friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren’t Neferet’s secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn’t want to hear and truths she can’t face?
On the run and holed up in Tulsa’s Prohibition-era tunnels, Zoey and her gang must discover a way to deal with something that might bring them all down. Meanwhile, Zoey has a few other little problems. The red fledglings have cleaned up well – they’ve even managed to make the dark, creepy tunnels feel more like home – but are they really as friendly as they seem? On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to make things right with super-hot ex-, Eric, but she can’t stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms after one unforgettable night, and she is driven to try to save him from Neferet’s sinister influence at all costs. Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide among us?
Special bonus: The book features a full-color poster of Zoey inside the cover!
So those are the totally awesome summeries.

Zoey Redbird is a teenage girl born on December 24th from the Cherokee ancestry. Physically, she has hazel eyes and long strong hair, with high cheekbones and olive-toned skin. In Marked, she becomes a third former (or "freshman") vampyre fledgling at the House of Night who is blessed by the Goddess of Night, Nyx. Zoey is special because she is the only fledgling ever to have her Mark filled in so soon (with additional tattoos on her face, neck, back, waist, and hands later on) and she is the only vampyre in history to have an affinity for all five elements. In addition to that, she is the leader of the Dark Daughters, an exclusive school club. Through her new vampyre life, she has to deal with more than an average teenager generally does. Zoey is best friends with her House of Night roommate, Stevie-Rae Johnson. She was also chosen by a cat, who reminded her of a lioness, therefore she named her Nala. Zoey first dreamed of Nala, before seeing the orange cat stuck in a tree and rescuing her.
In Marked, she defeats Aphrodite for leadership of the exclusive school club, the Dark Daughters. Later, in Betrayed, as she is dating Erik Night officially, she carries out secret relationships with Heath Luck and Loren Blake. Towards the end of Chosen, all of these relationships are broken off when Loren dies, her Imprint with Heath is broken and Erik discovers her cheating. Untamed sees her leaving the House of Night as Neferet reveals her true colors.
Stevie Rae Johnson
Stevie Rae is Zoey's best friend at the House of Night, and also a third former. She is described as having big, serious blue eyes, short curly blond hair and a round face. She is Zoey's roommate, and is an Oklahoma girl with a distinct accent. Stevie Rae came to the House of Night from Henrietta, Oklahoma, home of the Fighting Hens, just three months before Zoey. Stevie Rae is a caring, sweet girl who is often compared to a wriggling puppy who wouldn't hurt a fly, and has an affinity for earth. She rejects the Change in Betrayed and dies. In Betrayed, Zoey, after saving her imprinted on-and-off boyfriend Heath, finds an undead Stevie Rae. She does not know how it happened to her, but Stevie Rae warns her that "she" will kill Zoey. In Chosen, Zoey finds and hides Stevie Rae at Aphrodite's house. One month after her temporary death, Stevie Rae sneaks back into House of Night and is restored her humanity by Zoey and her friends in a small casting circle, including Aphrodite, and fully completes the change. In Untamed, she completes the Change as a new type of vampyre, with a filled in red crescent moon instead of the traditional sapphire blue. Towards the end of the novel, she is injured and her blood is used to resurrect an ancient evil being Kalona.
Damien is the only boy in the group of Zoey's new friends, also a third former. He has deer-like eyes and dark brown hair. He is gay and doesn't conceal it, being authentic, with his feminine tendencies and extensive vocabulary. He has an affinity for air, a rare gift for any male vampyre. He is in a relationship with vampyre fledgling Jack Twist, who arrived at the House of Night in Betrayed.
Shaunee Cole is a fourth former (or "sophomore"), at the House of Night. She is described as being curvy with high cheekbones, thick hair that falls in dark waves around her shoulders and dark eyes. She has a very close connection with Erin Bates. So close, everyone refers to them as being the Twins because of their similar thoughts and actions. Shaunee and Erin have very different appearances: Shaunee is of Jamaican descent and "lovely mocha color[ed]" skin from Connecticut , while Erin is an "extremely white girl" from Tulsa. Shaunee is very faithful to her friends, and she has an affinity for fire.
Erin is a fourth former at the House of Night, known as a "Twin" alongside her best friend, Shaunee. She has long blond hair and blue eyes. Shaunee and Erin have a good taste in fashion and love to tease Damien about his love life (or lack thereof). She is extremely pretty, very wise, and has an affinity for water. Although her closest friend is Shaunee, she is good friends with Zoey, Stevie Rae, Jack, and Damien as well, and aids them in their ventures with her affinity for water.
Aphrodite was originally Zoey's sworn enemy. Through the series, she grows to be Zoey's most trusted ally and a part of the "nerd herd." She is a sixth former (or "senior") and has cold blue eyes with blond hair. Aphrodite was the leader of the Dark Daughters when Zoey first came to House of Night, as well as the High Priestess in training. Aphrodite was gifted with visions of possible futuristic disasters, which come true unless someone interferes the using her information. For her extreme irresponsibility and recklessness during the Halloween ritual, Neferet revoked her position as leader of the Dark Daughters and awarded the honor to Zoey. Nyx entrusts the earth affinity to Aphrodite when Stevie Rae dies, to keep it safe until Stevie Rae is ready to use it once again. At the end of Chosen, Aphrodite's mark disappears as a result of saving Stevie Rae, although she retains her visions. Nyx assures her that this is not a punishment; the earth affinity was never truly hers to hold, and her mark was burned away by her humanity in saving Stevie Rae. She later predicts that Kalona will come back.
Deino, Enyo, Pemphredo
Deino, Enyo and Pemphredo mean Terrible, Warlike, and Wasp, respectively. These three girls were in Aphrodite's 'in' crowd until the end of Marked. In Marked, it is revealed that Deino, Enyo and Pemphredo renamed themselves after the mythogical sisters of the Gorgon and Scylla. Deino also finished eleventh in the Shakespeare monologue contest for vampyres performing Cleopatra's death scene monologue. Enyo is blond with long, flowing locks that were more the color of waving wheat than gold, which Zoey didn't believe to be a natural blond.
A fifth former (or "junior") and boyfriend of Zoey until the end of Chosen. He is known for his acting talents, placing several times in poetry contests and seriously considered for Broadway. He used to have a relationship with Aphrodite, but now considers her hateful and cruel. He is repeatedly described as being gorgeous looking with Superman-type looks, with crystal blue eyes. At the end of Chosen he changes into an adult vampyre. Shortly afterward, he catches Zoey having slept with Loren Blake, thus ending their relationship and isolating her from her friends. In Untamed, Erik begins teaching drama at the House of Night, serving as the replacement of the deceased Patricia Nolan. He and Zoey do a rendition of Othello and kiss twice. He then attempts to ignore her for a good portion of the book. At the end of Untamed he leaves House of Night with Zoey and the other students who have escaped.
A newcomer to the House of Night who is dating Damien Maslin. He does all of the technical work for the Full Moon Rituals. Jack also takes care of James Stark's dog, Duchess, after Stark's death. Jack named himself after the character Jack Twist from Brokeback Mountain.
James Stark is a sixth former, and prefers to be called Stark. He first appeared in Untamed. Stark moved to the Oklahoma House of Night from Chicago as a sixth former. He has an instant connection with Zoey, but that connection is broken when his body rejects the change and he dies. Stark also has a power of never missing, making him dangerous with a bow and arrow. At the very end of Untamed, he returns as an undead minion of Neferet's, attempting to call Zoey back as she flees. James names himself after James Dean's character, James "Jim" Stark, from Rebel Without a Cause.
Loren Blake is the Poet Laureate at the House of Night and a love interest of Zoey's in Betrayed and Chosen. He is described as incredibly handsome and has a mark that resembles lightning bolts; over six feet tall with a deep and powerful voice. He woos Zoey throughout the novels and plays with Zoey's mind, thus causing trouble in her already complicated life. Erik Night, Zoey's boyfriend, walks in on Zoey and Loren after having sex, purposefully causing an imprint between them and breaking Zoey's imprint with Heath. This incident causes Zoey's isolation from her friends, which was Loren's plan which he devised with his true lover, Neferet, and that his affections for her were false. Loren is killed at the end of Chosen in what originally appears to be an attack by the People of Faith.
The High Priestess of the House of Night, and Zoey Redbird's mentor. Her position at Tulsa’s House of Night is roughly equal to that of a head principal, although her position carries considerably more power. At first, we see Neferet as a sweet, protective, motherly figure to Zoey, but later on in the novels, a deep secret is discovered. Neferet's vampyre marks are lines that remind Zoey of ocean waves, framed from her brows, extending down around her high cheekbones. Neferet has an affinity for healing and felines. She makes an astounding effect on people, being "amazing and awe-inspiring". Neferet gave an oath to Sylvia Redbird, Zoey's grandmother, that Zoey would be safe at the House of Night and that she would take it upon herself personally to ensure Zoey's safety. However, in Chosen, she betrayed Zoey.
Physically, Neferet is described as strong but curvy, with straight teeth, huge mossy-colored and almond-shaped eyes, a heart-shaped face and dark, glossy auburn red hair that falls in heavy waves past her shoulders. Her beauty is unusual, even among the ultra-gorgeous vampyres.
Professor Nolan was the drama teacher at the House of Night. She is murdered in Chosen; it is at first assumed that she has been killed by the People of Faith. After her death, Erik Night took over her job at the House of Night.
Professor Lenobia prefers to be called Lenobia after a famous vampyre High Priestess from the third century A.D.. As an instructor, Lenobia is intimidating at first. She has incredibly high standards and won’t pass any student who doesn’t meet those standards. The successful students in her class are intensely loyal and say that she is "the best." The students who stick with her class also become excellent equestrians.
Professor D. Lankford
Professor Lankford, who is referred to as "Dragon", is short and almost ordinary looking. However, when he is holding a blade, he becomes extraordinary. Dragon teaches fencing, and is the reigning World Fencing Champion and has never lost a match. He’s an incredible instructor and, through the Tulsa House of Night, he consistently turns out expert fencers.
When she was Marked (in the early 1900’s) she took the name of the famous vampyre Amazon queen. She prefers that students call her Professor P. The written word is Professor P’s first love. She teaches everything from classic literature to current bestsellers and pop fiction.
Darius is one of the Sons of Erebus, is described as good looking. He has a crush on Aphrodite, though he doesn't know she has been unMarked and has become human. His position as a Son of Erebus means that he is strong and fast, and his main role is that of a protector.
Heath was Zoey's human boyfriend before she was Marked. At the beginning of Marked, he is said to be drinking frequently and on drugs, along with the rest of the Broken Arrow football team. After accidentally sucking Heath's Blood, Zoey has an unofficial relationship with Heath, driven by the affects of her feeding off him; his fixation on her. Towards the end of the first novel, he searches for Zoey and is accidentally put in the middle of a Halloween ritual, which Aphrodite calls dark spirits to. The spirits nearly kill him; however, Zoey recaptures the spirits while Erik Night defends him. In Betrayed, Heath is captured by Neferet's undead creatures. Because of his and Zoey's Imprint, she is able to rescue him. Neferet destroys his memory of the incident, instead making him believe that he was kidnapped by a homeless person. In Chosen, when Zoey imprinted with Loren Blake, her Imprint with Heath was broken. In Untamed, he decides that he would no longer like to see her for their own good, even though he still loves her.
Grandma Sylvia Redbird
Sylvia Redbird is Zoey's Cherokee grandmother, on her mother's side. Grandma Redbird lives on a lavender farm, and she and Zoey are extremely close, especially since Zoey's mother remarried. Whenever Zoey has a problem she can always count on her grandma to help her feel better. She is like a mother to Zoey, calling her the Cherokee name for daughter. In Untamed she is in a horrible car accident and is placed into the Intensive Care Unit, also being watched by Sister Mary Angela at Zoey's request.
Linda and John Heffer
Linda Heffer is Zoey Redbird's mother, and John Heffer her husband. Linda remarried after divorcing from her first husband. John belongs to the People of Faith, a religious group strongly opposed to the existence of vampyres. Linda constantly chooses her husband over her daughter, thus causing tension between her and her daughter as well as with her mother, who supports Zoey's position as a student at the House of Night
Also, On November 17, 2008, Variety reported that the House of Night series was being optioned for film. "Producers Michael Birnbaum and Jeremiah Chechik have used their own coin to option screen rights to the House of Night, a series of nine young adult novels by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast."
