The Special Beach Episode, but It's Actually the Whole Show
All right, that may not be completely fair. But this show is a sports anime about qt girls in bikinis. That is the glaring, obvious core and it that's enough for you on it's own, you'll love this show. There's lots of bouncing, qt outfits, qt sounds, some strong lesbian baiting, and general fanservice.

if not, there is more to this show than all that. It's actually quite a nice sports drama as ...

This is a sports, slice of life anime about Harukana playing beach volleyball
Harukana, who is a natural athlete and tall, goes to live with her cousin in Okinawa and immediately ends up on the beach playing beach volleyball. Her cousin, Kanata, used to play, but quit, apparently after the death of someone close, possibly a sister. Their first pick-up game is with the local high school champions, who they lose to 7-0, but she claims a revenge match in a week. So it ...

As a fan of actual beach volleyball this show doesn't disappoint
Ever since watching Haikyu!!, I started loving volleyball and even started playing seriously. Beach volleyball in particular is really fun so I was very happy when I saw a series dedicated to the sport. So far the animation is fluid and looks nice, the music, opening and endings are great, and the characters are very enjoyable. Give it a watch!

    The animation is the best!
Wow, never noticed the colors at the bottoms of the characters eyes before. Story seems OK but the artwork is amazing! I love how the main character actually feels like someone charming and relatable. I am really looking forward to so many more episodes.

    Better Than Expected
The first episode really surprised me. I was expecting boob jiggles everywhere. But this anime isn't about boob jiggles and skimpy swimwear, it is about volleyball. You can really feel the 'sportsman's heart' in this show and the story development and characters are amazing. The animation is also amazing. I can't get that one scene in the second episode where they serve the ball and the sand flies ...

Cute sports anime worth watching for the bubbly feel goods
It does have some fan service but it wasn’t too distracting for someone it wasn’t aimed at. The end is very upbeat and didn’t leave a giant clifffhanger (thankfully). The character stories aren’t too deep but there is enough to get you invested in their plots. Great show, I’ve already watched it again and plan to get the manga as they are released. (PS- the 12 episodes are up to the 5th ...

#208. Don't judge an anime by it's cover! (The best anime of 2018's summer season.)
On the beach of Okinawa, Haruka Oozora is moving into her cousin's house for her high school life. Her cousin, Kanata Higa, shows her around the town, eventually leading her to the beach. As Haruka excitedly runs for the ocean for some fun, they bump into two girls playing volleyball, Haruka shortly after finds out that one of the players was Kanata's old partner. Haruka and Kanata are then ...

Excellent sports anime without the ecchi!
Harukana Receive is a good wholesome anime that I recommend for anyone who has dealt with self-esteem issues or knows someone that is. Plus, it’s a good sport anime that shows how people can be connected through their love of beach volleyball. The series will also deal with social issues as Kanata is described as shy and quiet. Constant interaction with her peers will help her overcome her ...

I was impressed and want to watch more
My first sports anime. It was awesome. Volleyball is my favourite sport and I feel like they cared a little about technique which would be a requirement for me to watch this.

It was great that they totally focused on the genre instead of putting guys in there and making it a typical story about some girl and a boy... actually it was all girls in this haha. loved it.

Despite appearances, it's an actual sports anime!
Your typical summer sports anime with a lot more sports than you might be used to. The visuals might throw you off, expecting something else altogether like a slapstick casual sports story. At some point the story comes together and they take the game of beach volleyball seriously with some intense sports action just as good as the top sports anime you can think of. In it's own way this show ...
