  • AMAZING ANIME, a bit dated in animation style
I'm glad to see this here! If you liked Queen's Gambit, this is up your alley! One of my favorite anime growing up, sparked my interest in Go. Only disappointment was they didn't do the whole manga. The animation style is very '90s which seems a bit inelegant to my sensibilities and didn't feel like it matched the vibe of the manga.

    Its was a good anime
Its a good anime but it feels like a ad for the board game go, I mean like how bakumon and yu-gi-oh was a ad for toys this feels the same way. I liked how you got to see this kindergartener grow up to a high schooler, by that I mean with every episode the main character has grown in size.

  • A great anime and a great game
I've watched this anime all the way through more times than I should admit. This anime was my introduction to Go and I've been thankful ever since. If you enjoy this anime, you need to watch the OVA, as the series leaves the ending wanting more and the OVA wraps things up a bit more nicely.

  • I am not a huge "Sports" anime guy
I know Go is a game, and not a sport. But still, I tend to lump this show in with shows like Haikyu and Slam Dunk for some weird reason. That being said, I actually really liked this series. Maybe it is the blend of occasional history and the beautiful animation, but I just can't help but enjoy watching it.

  • A great old school anime
I first found this series in my school library but decided to go find the anime. At the time, I watched it on Viz, then I re-watched it on CR. I also read the manga a few times. It's an amazing anime with great characters, story, plot etc. I fell in love with this series so much that I had to recommended to my friends. This series can be enjoyed by both Dub and Sub watchers and there is no need to ...

  • Bruh Moment! The Nostalgia Hits Different
Guys... Coming back and watching this show has given me so much joy. This was one of my favorite shows from when I was in middle school and still continues to consume my attention even after re-watching it! See, you would think that a show about Go would be boring, but it is actually so immersive and interesting to watch. The show is similar to other game-based shonen animes, but it is way more ...

  • I started playing Go
I've watched this series 4-5 times over the years and it introduced me to Go.
It's such a beautiful game and this series is great.
    I highly recommend.

It's so surprising that a series about a board game in general can be so engrossing and entertaining.

  • My ole good memories
I used to play the Go a lot when I lived in South Korea. I was a decent player who aspired to be a pro, but I had to move to America. This anime brought my fond memories back. Thanks for this anim, Crunchyroll!! I do love mine games like chess and poker, but if you understand the Go, you will fall in love with this game....just like you fall in love with this anime. Well done.

  • Bring Back Memories :3
When I was younger, I remember reading the manga and watching the anime. Now that I watched it again it still bring back memories about the first time I enjoyed this. The arts and emotions of this anime is still wonderful till today and enjoyed by all ages.

We all see how the game started out with someone that don't know anything about the game "GO". We also see the main character grow-up and ...

    5 out of 5
I originally watched this back when i was in jr high as an 8th grader in 2008, it was the first anime I got into, since my local library had limited Manga books. Went through it all and loved the show. I needed a break from some shows im currently watching and decided to watch one episode. It ended up taking me on an entire ride wanting to rewatch it all, the story is beautifully ...
