Bland, has good and bad parts. Mostly bad.
The MC is not interesting of a character, and all the side characters act like they're in Japan even though they're in a different world (i.e "no stealing, no misusing your powers!!!"). The MC's smartphone is not relied upon much (which is fine), but his granted powers pretty much make him a god in the new world, but he doesn't do anything about it because he is boring. Literately, that's the ...

Went in with low expectations, was still disappointed
I gave this three episodes because I thought that once it got past its initial set up there might be a half decent, perhaps enjoyable anime to pass the time between the perpetual search for the next "must watch" anime.
Wasn't expecting a lot, but was hoping perhaps to pass the time with some enjoyable, if stock standard characters and a bit of plot in a take on a genre that has had some stellar ...

Better than most anime this season.
The concept is cliche, the characters are bland and uninteresting and there is never any struggle. When he is faced with a problem it's just "Oh I can use any null magic and fix this".

Still, I find it enjoyable to watch though.... Don't know why.

  • Nothing to see here.
(Disclaimer: I've only watched 3 episodes. Not wasting any more of my time to give a more complete review.)

I wasn't expecting anything profound, but this anime fails to deliver on any premise. Characters have no depth, plot is weak even for a slice of life, not really funny at all. Haven't even seen much of the smartphone past the first episode. The only reason that I didn't rate it one ...

A Show That Aims to Please
Do you hear that? The Waifu train is about to take off. Please hurry aboard if you like loli twins, loli princess, loli samurai, loli maid, loli...anything at all, our OP MC will provide for the most glorious adventure. In Another World is a lighthearted fantasy filled with fan service and cliche moments. Don't take it too seriously and you will have a decent time watching this.

it may not be anything new but its still good.
It may not be anything new but the fact people still watch it proves how much they like it. others can complain about how its boring another anime with op main and random girls but the fact is thats what we like... otherwise why are you watching lol...

    flaming pile of garbage
This show is utterly terrible. There are no narrative stakes in any form, as the main character horribly boring and possesses every conceivable power that exists in this world he's been transported to. That is no exaggeration. Not only does he possess every known power, but he is extraordinarily talented at every single one. His smartphone isn't even that important in the grand scheme of ...

If you like watching cliche bad anime with great art you'll love this
Another late 90's/early 2000 throwback with shallow storytelling and weak, cookie-cutter characterization. But I love watching bad movies (mostly horror) to make fun of their ridiculousness and have nick-named this anime "The story of Convenience-kun".
It doesn't have bad points per se, it's just mediocre.
Everything just conveniently goes in this guy's favor for no reason and it's hilarious.
    I ...

    Konsuba but serious?
So far I think it's been pretty enjoyable. Reading a lot of the reviews, I seem to have the unpopular opinion. However, this is kind of like if konosuba were a more serious anime instead of comedy. I absolutely loved Konosuba and I think that it is a masterpiece. However this review is for Smartphone. I think it's turning out pretty well so far. I have managed to stay interested after the 2nd ...

    This is what Konosuba parodies.
A main character with a god given access to the entirely of all recorded human knowledge cast into a world hundreds of years behind our own is an interesting idea. Giving the main character access to quite literally every single form of magic in a world where magic aptitude in itself is rare is a potentially interesting but mostly concerning idea. Giving this character superior physical and mental ...
