  • Customers got drunk in the first episode
This review is based on watching one episode. The first episode of course.

I get people like to drink alcohol. I myself don't drink but I know some great, amazing people that drink alcohol.

My problem is that they got drunk. No, they didn't do anything stupid or horrible. Just the sheer mention of being drunk annoys me. Just as I think cigarettes should not be advertised anymore, you should ...

  • Isekai Izakaya - A delightful, relaxing time
From the get-go this is a delightfully, beautifully animated series. The episodes are just as long as they need to be, and it's lovely seeing the peeks of the world developing around the smaller setting of the Izakaya itself. Don't be put off by the over-use of subtitles and explanation text in the first two episodes - very quickly those fall to the wayside/minimal use, becoming more of a ...

Unoriginal Premise Without the Quality to Make it Worthwhile
In comparison to Restaurant to Another World (which can also be found here on Crunchyroll) the premise wears thin before the first episode is done. No doubt the incessant egotism regarding Japanese cuisine works well for its home audience and deep weebs, it requires a much higher quality show to offset that for anyone else. Gate (also available here on Crunchyroll) has a very similar egocentric ...

  • a fun anime for the whole family
There's nothing embarassing or cringey in this anime. It's safe for the whole family and is fun. Don't take it seriously. The short cooking bits that occur after the show are fun, and provide a look at how to make japanese food for those interested in trying.

  • Are You Hungry? Then Watch this. Or Not?
I'll warn you ahead of time, I'm a sucker for cooking manga, anime, or light novels. This shit is up my alley. Alley is a word that made me lose the spelling bee back in the second grade. What is that e doing there.

Anyways, do you like looking at delicious cartoon food? So do I! Watch this with me. It kind of has a plot too!

    Low-key, generic restaurant sekai
This is yet another restaurant sekai that delivers on showing over-the-top reactions to foods. However, every restaurant sekai does that and this anime fails to do anything else. The character development is rather shallow and the main plot in the story doesn't really answer any interesting questions. It's fine to watch this idly, but many other choices such as Restaurant to Another World ...

  • Satisfying Food Documentary anime-style
Disclaimer: I have yet to read the manga.

I found this show to be thoroughly satisfying to enjoy especially while snacking/drinking/having a meal. 10 mins of anime followed by roughly 3-4 mins of real life cooking tips show or hunt for specific food places which both feature that episode's special dish. This anime is very informative and helpful to food and cooking enthusiasts.

    Cute and Delicious Meals
I LOVE THIS ANIME and I don't care what people say because my boyfriend heavily judged me for enjoying this too much. I understand Shokugeki had given everyone a standard of what Japanese food in anime should look like, but this show was so absolutely entertaining in its own quirky way that you just have to watch it and understand why. I also liked seeing the previews of real life ...

Who needs Food Wars when you have this?
If someone says "Food Anime" this first thing would come to people's mind is Food Wars, right?
Well, in my case, it's this show.

Japanese Food From Another World Isn't a traditional Isekai anime. The setting is the "Nobu" restaurant, the characters do mostly slice-of-life events, with the occasional political upheaval thrown in. I don't want to say too much to spoil it, but it ...
