RESULTS: Which Naruto Arcs Did You Vote As Your Favorites?

Will your favorite story arc reign supreme?

If the internet has been good for one thing, it’s debating which arcs of Naruto are the best. After over 2,800 votes, we finally have an answer, thanks to all of you! We’re going to break down the top three arcs from each of our poll categories of major and minor in order for you to see which parts of the series you collectively enjoy the most. Let’s dive in and definitively find out which parts of Naruto are everyone’s favorite!

Top 3 Minor Naruto Arcs

3. Recovering Menma’s Memories 91 votes/7 percent

A surprising choice to end up in the third-place spot for the minor arcs, as it edged out fourth place by only three votes. The Menma arc is also the penultimate story arc in the original series before you dive headfirst into Naruto Shippuden. Plus, I’m sure all of that ocarina playing Menma does helps remind people of a certain video game series.

2. Land of Tea Escort 129 votes/10 percent

The first minor arc in the series that precedes the Sasuke Recovery mission lands in second place out of all of the 16 minor arcs. I mean, who doesn’t love a good race and the series becoming slightly sports-like for a few episodes? It also helps that this is the only minor arc that features all of Team 7 working together, as for obvious reasons, one person isn’t around for the rest of the minor arcs.

1. Sand Village Support 563 votes/42 percent

I can certainly agree with this taking the top spot as it was a fun time to see the Sand trio return in a new light after seeing them so long ago in the series. It’s easy to see how this could lead to Shippuden and gives you a slight glimpse into how those characters will be in the future. Plus, it has a feel of the major arcs in a way that a lot of the minor arcs can lack. A fun way to wrap up the original series of Naruto.

3. Land of Waves Escort 419 votes/15 percent

The Land of Waves arc is a great way to begin the series as not only do we get to see the beginnings of Team 7 and how they start working together but also some great villain characters in Zabuza and Haku. The fights in this arc and the character development we get really give viewers a quick way to get hooked into the series right away. It was certainly the thing that made me really think that Naruto could be a pretty cool show, so I’m glad to see it get into the top three.

2. Sasuke Recovery Mission 753 votes/26 percent

The climax of the series before it transitions into a hundred episodes of minor arcs. You could certainly put this here with just the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight alone — although there are quite a few other fun moments throughout this arc as well. The sand trio showing up again, drunk Rock Lee, Gaara joining Lee to fight Kimimaro, amongst a whole lot of other cool scenes. It’s the arc that sets the story in motion all the way through the end of Shippuden, so it’s pretty dang important, and also pretty good.

1. Chunin Exams 1,355 votes/47 percent

Let’s be honest here. This is not at all surprising. It’s hard to even think of Naruto without thinking of the Chunin Exams arc. This is where Rock Lee vs. Gaara happened, which has become iconic in the world of anime. We get the beginnings of Orochimaru as a villain. A TON of tournament fights and action. It’s hard to argue that the Chunin Exams isn’t the complete package when it comes to Naruto arcs. To have nearly half of you vote for this makes complete sense — it’s what I’d vote for, too. Also, I know it’s not mentioned as much as Gaara/Rock Lee, but don’t sleep on the Naruto/Neji fight in this arc, because it’s pretty dang good, as well.

Thank you to everyone who voted and helped us finally come to a conclusion on which arcs are the favorites of Naruto! If anyone ever says otherwise, show them this, because this is science. Congratulations to the Chunin Exams arc and the Sand Village Support arc for being voted the top major and minor arcs of Naruto!
