August 19 will celebrate the volleyball series in a variety of ways
Get ready to celebrate your favorite volleyball boys on August 19, Haikyu!! Day!
The date itself is clever wordplay (haikyu can be spelled out numerically in Japanese as 819), but 2019 is also the fifth anniversary of the series. The combo of the special day and the special year means some very cool things coming out for fans, starting with a marathon courtesy of AbemaTV.
Viewers in Japan can tune in starting August 19 to watch all the Haikyu!! there is to watch. All three seasons and an omnibus edition of the films will be available during a 24/7 special viewing. Fans can also catch the marathon for free on-demand for a month after the marathon.
Also coming out that day is a set of collectible Haikyu!! stamps. The stamps feature newly-drawn art of the series's stars enjoying their youth at festivals, karaoke, cherry blossom viewing, and beyond. The stamps will come wiht a special album and 14 postcards printed with key visuals from throughout the series.
The collector sets will be available at post offices across Japan starting August 19. A single set will cost 3,700 yen, with discounts for multiple sets bought at once.
