Live-action film based on legendary Capcom survival horror franchise hits U.S. theaters on November 24, 2021
A pair of cool new movie posters have been revealed for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, an upcoming live-action theatrical film based on Capcom's classic series of survival horror video games featuring a man-made biohazard running amok and turning people into cannibalistic zombies and other flesh-warping terrors.
Sony Pictures describes the story of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City as follows:
Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
The posters (above) feature the main cast kitted up and ready for action. The first poster is designed for the U.S. market, while the second poster (with the later release date of November 26th) is designed for international markets.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is written and directed by Johannes Roberts and stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, and Tom Hopper. The film hits theaters in the United States on November 24, 2021.
