Join the rest of Caon as they hit the beach in a special story event!
Heyas, Knights! We’ve heard you’ve been missing us, waiting for the latest Princess Connect! Re: Dive News. Well don’t fret, we’re here to help with the latest update. The summer heat may continue to beat down on the continent of Astraea, but that’s not stopping us from introducing even more summer-themed fare, characters, and exciting stories that are headed your way soon. Let’s set sail for the seas of adventure!
Get ready to make a splash with our newest summer-themed character, Makoto (Summer)! Operating with a brand new outfit, Caon’s wolven swordstress is dressed for fun at the beach with her guildmates (more on that down below!). Makoto’s always been known for her ability to provide massive amounts of physical defense debuffs to enemies on the battlefield, and that’s not changing one bit. Each one of Makoto (Summer)’s skills gets even better when there’s just one enemy left on the battlefield, making her skills appealing when fighting tough bosses that can otherwise pose a large challenge. Needless to say, this is one summer character that'd be remiss to miss - and the boosted rates from the Focus Gacha will help a lot!
Y’all probably know the deal by now, but like other summer characters, Makoto (Summer) is a limited character, which means that she won’t be included in the Premium Gacha rotation after her Focus Gacha ends. Ultimately, summer doesn’t last forever, so be sure to meet her while you can! In case you need it, she’ll also be available for redemption via character points, too - you won’t be lost at sea forever.
The Makoto (Summer) Focus Gacha runs for 10 days, from 7/4, 23:00 UTC to 7/14, 22:59 UTC.
Speaking of summer characters - we’re bringing back some more special summer characters from last year for a special revival gacha! After Makoto (Summer)’s Focus Gacha ends, the prize gacha makes its way to feature Tamaki (Summer) and Suzume (Summer) as they’re back for a five-day Prize Gacha! Guess Tamaki finally found her way back from that abandoned island after all.
The Prize Gacha system is still pretty new, so a quick reminder of how it works: when performing draws on this Gacha, you’ll be able to select one of the focus characters - in this case, either Tamaki (Summer) or Suzume (Summer). Each draw you make in the Prize Gacha will also come with a guaranteed prize ranging from Divine Amulets, Skip Tickets, Princess Heart Fragments, or Memory Shards of the selected character. It’s free prize estate!
Whether you’re new to the game and weren’t around for their first go-around last year, or if you just skipped out on them last time, now’s a perfect opportunity to bolster your boxes with these limited characters. Again, like Makoto (Summer) before them, they won’t be added to the Premium Gacha rotation after their Focus Gacha ends, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity!
The Tamaki (Summer) + Suzume (Summer) Prize Gacha runs for five days, from 7/14, 23:00 UTC to 7/19, 22:59 UTC.
Get ready to join Makoto, Kaori, and Maho as they hit the beach in the brand new story event, Dog Days in the Maho-Maho Kingdom: A Soulful Seaside Summer! (It’s a mouthful, we know.) A kingdom is not complete without its constituents, and Maho has the fantastic idea of bringing along every single plushie in the Caon guildhouse along for the beach getaway. But they wouldn’t just… disappear, right?
No matter how many plushies are at the beach, we should get the usual formalities out of the way first. This event features unique, exclusive boss battles, where you can test your skills in three varying difficulties: Normal, Hard, and Very Hard. Very Hard is set to be the toughest of the bunch, and is only clearable once per day. If you’re craving even more of a challenge, we’ve also prepared another Special difficulty Boss, with unique challenges and mechanics that will challenge you in new ways across three different modes. Of course, for each boss you best, you’ll earn various rewards for your troubles, such as Victory Medals, equipment, and more.
In order to fight the bosses, though, you’ll need to spend Boss Tickets. These Boss Tickets can be obtained by clearing event stages, as well as from login bonuses while the event is active. If you don’t successfully defeat a boss on your first attempt, don’t sweat it - you can retry as many times as necessary, and non-lethal damage dealt to a Boss carries over between attempts.
Makoto (Summer) might be the one taking the beachfront but she’s not the only one! During the story event period, you’ll be able to obtain an exclusive free unit in Kaori (Summer) after defeating the boss on Normal difficulty. Kaori (Summer) is ready in her swimming attire to spend some fun times on the beach with Makoto and Maho. Whether you’re looking to catch some sun down by the beach or plan to go collect some plushies, make sure to take this opportunity to obtain a summer-styled Kaori before the Dog Days of Summer end.
With so much going on during the summer, we’re also increasing the experience gain rates for completing Event Quests. During the event, clearing Event Quests will give 1.5x times the normal experience, in addition to the normal Mana, items, and Boss Tickets that these quests give out.
The Victory Medal Gacha also makes its splash for the event! Clearing event stages, event missions, and defeating the previously mentioned bosses will earn you Victory Medals, which can be exchanged for a plethora of goodies. There’s a predetermined series of reward lineups, each featuring a key reward - once you roll the current lineup’s key reward, you’ll have the opportunity to either reset the rewards and move ahead to the next lineup, or hold off on resetting to clear out all the possible rewards. Here are the key rewards you should look out for!
- Lineup 1: Kasumi’s Memory Shard x 20
- Lineup 2: Kaori (Summer)’s Memory Shard x 25
- Lineup 3: Kasumi’s Memory Shard x 30
- Lineup 4: Kaori (Summer)’s Memory Shard x 40
Just remember - once you’ve gone through the four initial lineups, you won’t be able to reset the active lineup until you’ve obtained all the possible rewards from the current active lineup.
The Dog Days in the Maho-Maho Kingdom: A Soulful Seaside Summer! story event will be available from 7/4, 23:00 UTC to 7/17, 22:59 UTC.
