only the last episode was truly the one that made my eyes widen and caught my interest. a friend of mine recommended me this anime and every episode i wondered why in the hell would he recommend me this awful anime. when the very last episode started to unravel i thought omg maybe this is why!! but honestly once i learned everything i still didnt feel like that 11 episode journey was worth the ...

  • This show has an experimental design that works to its favor
This show has a somewhat experimental structure - in kind of the same way that the blair witch project had an experimental structure (but not as dramatic). Its the way that they execute character development. Im trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible. But i really like how they designed it. Its actually somewhat artistic in a sense.

Casual Weeb Reviews:Juni Taisen Zodiac War
I'm going to start this review by disclaiming that the anime I personally like to watch is geared towards plot and less filler. In no ways am I saying that "slice of life" animes or other causal story animations are bad. Simply put I enjoy developed stories with less emphasis on the Japanese cliches that permeate some. Only my opinion please don't be mean :(

    Now to the review. ...

  • Looks can be deceiving
I don’t want to bad mouth the anime because there were parts I truly enjoyed about this anime. If you are like me and thought you were getting great fights and a mystery and was interested by that I would say walk away. This anime pretends to be something for the first half. It’s fast paced and gets you thinking who could die next but after the second half you know what’s going to happen.

  • "Meh" sums up this anime well...
I think many other reviewers have the right idea on this anime. It's not terrible...but it just seems like they could of did so much more with it. The concepts are nice, in that each zodiac has their own warrior, with their own power, in a battle royale. The backstories I think are its saving grace. Some animes need more backstories like this one does for the characters. But...that's about as far ...

  • It was predictable but likable.
I liked this anime; sure you could see the ending coming from a long way. But it was still terrific. Just cause an anime may be predictable that doesn't mean it won't have an enjoyable ride. This anime is like a rollercoaster, sure you know how it's going to end, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself.

  • people are expecting the wrong things.
don't watch if you're expecting action. Lots of back stories. Yeah sure it easy to predict who will die next but after seeing their whole life it gives it meaning when it happens. The show is good. The ending is good. People read way too much into things. just sit back and keep an open mind about what to expect with this unique show.

  • Merciless, even more so beneath the surface.
Juni Taisen appears on the surface to be a standard action anime - but the divings into backstory of the different warriors and exploration of their philosophical ideas, AND how all this intertwines and influences one another, Juni Taisen becomes a very entertaining blood sport!

When combat happens the scenes are amazing in regards to animation. The only real downside is that it feels many ...

  • Trials And Tribulations Of The Modern Otaku part 325
On one hand the “Why do we spend any time getting to know, or explore the backstories of characters who are just gonna die?” complaint will be popular. Also there’s very little world building or explanation. Conversely this show didn’t promise any of that. And it delivered on what it was selling. The characters are unique and diverse, but at the same time characters based on the zodiac (be it ...

  • 100% predictable and wastes all of the character development
Without spoiling anything, Juni Taisen's premise is quite interesting and would seem to be a Fates knockoff with a twist. However, what Juni Taisen fails to do is develop characters over time making the one we cheer for ambiguous. The character you cheer for in Juni Taisen isn't ambiguous because there are no characters the watcher WANTS to cheer for in the first place. They treat character ...
