  • Long winded with sub par characters
I'm only giving this 3 stars because it was interesting. I didn't finish it well because it wasn't that great. Crunchyroll should have to explain themselves when something they promote the hell out of doesn't really pan out. Too much dialogue and too many instances where you can tell the writers were up against the wall. The characters are pretty mediocre but maybe in a weird way that's the way it ...

  • I Survived Juni Taisen: Exposition War

If you are looking for a show that is engaging and emotionally stimulating watch something else. However, if you enjoy watching television that is wrought with exposition, two-dimensional characters, abandoned animation quality, and a predictable ending then look no further! This is the show for you.

As someone who has watched all twelve episodes I can say that this show ...

  • What a stupid ending
Avoid if you don't want to be disappointed. Nice, almost likable characters, with abilities that doesn't make sense, which makes 0 difference on their battle outcomes. Very poor writing and an absolute disappointing ending (talking about the very last ep).

  • Terrible show, do not waste time
This show is so bad, I had to do a 1 star review (which I've never done before for any show). I won't spoil it for you but you'll quickly find out exactly who is going to die after on a show or two, the order will not be surprising to you. Also the action is extremely lacking and the characters storylines are very mundane. If you think you can handle getting all the way through the show, you'll ...

  • Interest concept but was terribly written
This anime had sooo much potential. You like a character then they die. No plot twist at all. It's all predictable and a super cheap short version of game of thrones. Seriously had so much potential but it's a flop. blah blah blah crunchyroll why do you have a minimum word count for reviews? seriously?

  • Interesting at first, but quickly becomes predictable and then boring
There are some interesting parts of the story, and I like the abilities that they give everyone, which is why I gave it three stars, but if you don't realize who is going to die by the end of the episode you are probably half blind. Also boring ending, you might as well just stop at episode 11, you'll probably be more satisfied that way.

  • i personally liked it
i personally like this a lot, it might be because i loved every character and then see them die? yeah ..
it could have been better though, the first episode was amazing! if only they added more story, plot kind of thing to it. would have made an amazing show but then again, this is based off of the ancient chinese folklore. the end is a bit disappointing.

    Just skip this series
You get a character's backstory and then they die. There is zero tension in any fight once the pattern is revealed by the second episode. The ending is also extremely dull and disappointing. There is no payoff or catharsis. The only novelty to this series is that it made a death tournament dull and unsatisfying.

Looks can be deceiving - Juni Taisen is a dialogue
while Juni Taisen appears to be another action show because of its setting in a 12 warrior battle royal, it is actually a deeply philosophical show with its most interesting parts found in the conversations between the partaking warriors. discussions of good and evil are plenty, yet the good characters hardly have the upper hand. everything is presented as a gray area and even the most noble ...

  • A bit of a slow start, but definitely worth it.
The series does start out a bit slow, but definitely ramps up throughout. I was a bit worried that with so many characters, the show wouldn't have time to develop them and allow you to get to know all of them, but Juni Taisen squeezes an amazing amount of content into its short episode count. While the actual Juni Taisen is cool, and the fights are beautifully animated, this show really shines ...
