  • "Back Stories" The anime
May contain spoilers? Or at least the obvious formula of the show

Advertised as a battle royale action anime that looked super promising, immediately becomes "tell the back story of a character, then kill them that episode or the next". It's somewhat enjoyable but I feel like they really cut a lot of corners on the action scenes which should have been the selling point of the show. I think the ...

  • Somehow I can't stop watching
Juni Taisen is an interesting anime because it has a premise that we have seen more then once, but it has really strong potential. Somehow I can't look away even though it annoys me slightly. It has managed to somehow just kinda fizzle. I think that the back stories, and the characters plotting out their attacks are just to long and there really isn't much fighting. You see parts of the fighting, ...

  • Interesting Concept, but...
I enjoy the idea, but it's so PREDICTABLE!!! I mean if the title of the episode doesn't give it away, you can literally just google the Chinese zodiac and find out who's gonna die next based on that. However, I still like the visuals and the fight scenes...

    It tried but fell short.
Honestly I've watched a whole lot of anime and will continue to do so and therefore don't say lightly that this will not be one of them. While the animation is gorgeous and the voice actors are pretty nice, the story and events are incredibly predictable to the point of boredom. It started fairly interesting but it loses steam in like 3 episodes so no recommendation from me. If your really looking ...

Warrior of the review: Killing anti-climatically
Coming from the guy who wrote the Monogatari series you'd expect top notch writing from this at the very least, but even the episodes that are written well and aren't just straight up boring can't truly save this show. Don't get me wrong, this show is by no means terrible; however, that doesn't mean that it's actually good. Everything about this show is just... average. Animation, writing, ...

  • they change from painted style to CGI and its bad
they change the animation style half way though the series.
DON'T WATCH THIS IF YOU CARE ABOUT COHERENT ANIMATION STYLES

the story is interesting, weather or not to pick a fav ep to ep and see weather the die in the next episode hunger games style. Too much backstory though that honestly doesn't matter for the main fight.

    What started so well...
Okay. First couple episodes intrigued, even surprised me. Blood, death and even a back story lulled me into watching up to episode 2. But shortly after that, the plot becomes obvious...the characters are pointless, and the actions sequences are quite* anti-climatic.

I like action. I like character development. I like good stories. I don't*** like this anime.

  • A little bit of conflicting emotions for this one
Juni Taisen is basically a survival anime (my favourite genre of anime also and if anyone has any animes of the same genre, message me xD) where different warriors of...you guessed it, the Chinese Zodiac calendar. And that idea is what made me click on it. I mean the fact that it's a survival anime is enough for me, and you can pick your Zodiac symbol to root for. However, from what I was told the ...

Possibly the worst anime I've watched
The concept of Juni Taisen is great and imaginative - embodiments of the Chinese Zodiac, fighting each other in a Battle Royale. It sounds like it should be fun, so where did it go wrong for me?

Juni Taisen prides itself on its distinct premise and art style, lending itself an anime that proclaims its difference without trying. However, just as these are it's greatest selling points, they are ...

    Masterpiece for the intellectual.
By far one of the most underrated dark masterpieces, it doesn't give spare room for attachment, all the characters are equally so main characters and they each have their own chances. In general most people are put off by the fact that there is more than one main character in a war versus between them, but those with more intellect and understanding will generally serve well to understand the ...
