  • One of the most inventive, thought provoking and imaginitive anime you will ever watch.
If you like David Lynch, if you like stuff that messes with your head, if you like Neon Genesis Evangelion, basically, if you like weird stuff, you have to watch this.

The animation is incredible. Most anime have maybe one great idea which serves to fuel the entire series. This anime is pumping out new and original concepts in every single episode. It's a masterpiece and you need to watch it.

  • the animation is crazy obscure but its an incredible work of art
If you love the director Masaaki Yuasa from Science Saru you will instantly fall in love. It really doesn't matter whar kind of animation styles you are into. this show is incredible on so many levels. dont judge purely on how obscure it looks You are missing out if you dont at least give it try. 10/10 cant wait to show my kids this GEM

Amnesia done right and a bittersweet favorite. (No Spoilers)

From Masaaki Yuasa (Mindgame, The Tatami Galaxy, [Devilman: Crybaby]) and featuring an evocative synth score by Kiyoshi Yoshida (The Girl Who Leapt through Time), Kaiba is a science fiction love story with a unique visual style and an undercurrent of existential longing.

What is our memories? Our spirit? Our soul? What makes us... us?

The story starts with a young and ...

A special anime different than the rest
Kaiba, a spring 2008 anime produced by Madhouse and directed by Masaaki Yuasa, is a 12-episode anime that is different than the rest. It received an Excellence Prize for animation at the 2008 Japan Media Arts Festival, and for good reason as the animation is awesome. The animation has character, it's simple without precise lines, and is reminiscent of older days.

The plot is interesting, and ...

  • An absolute masterpiece
This is my first review on Crunchy roll, and man, I couldn't have chosen a better show for my first one. When we are first introduced to our protagonist, Warp, who is a soft spoken boy with a hole in his chest. He clearly has no idea what happened or what is happening, but it seems that no one else around him seems to care about the hole in his chest. The only clue that Warp has is the lock socket ...

  • The fragility of memory
Kaiba takes place in a future where memories and bodies can be cleanly separated from one another, sold or stolen, and rejoined to other bodies and memories. Identity is fluid and malleable, shifting at a whim if you have the means. Against this backdrop, Kaiba shows us the wonder and despair of everyday lives: poverty, revolution, deceit, love, death, and salvation.

Easy lines, a soft palette, ...

  • This show is amazing!
I watched this years back, and it changed my life. The experiences you will find in here are not for kids, and the style is not what you expect for anime. It is however, without a doubt, among my top 3 anime of all time, and I often list it as my number one.

  • Simply a must watch anime.
Don't let the visual style fool you..this is not a show for children, the plot is dark and you have to pay close attention in order to understand it. I was very late to the party on watching this but even 10+ years later it definitely stands the test of time.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend that you do.

  • Fantastic show, glad to see it on here!
I've always been saddened that there was no way to legally watch Kaiba through a streaming service, I'm happy to see it on here finally! Now I can have a much easier time recommending this gem of a show!

Any fans of Devilman:Crybaby owes it to themselves to watch this and see how Yuasa's unique art style has grown.

One of the all time greats...
Kaiba is one of the most amazingly original shows that I've ever seen... The artistic style, music and story all pull together into a truly unique work that begs to be seen and given serious thought and consideration. I'm so glad to see it finally being made available on Crunchyroll, and hope that people will take the time to see it through to the end.
