    First Impression: A Mystery?
    Episode 1 Impression:

Going in with my cynical first expectations, the main mystery was what cliche direction this would take: Harem? Yuri? Ecchi? Or just another overdone battle school? Surely those swords only cut deep enough to expose boobs and panties, amiright?

By the end of episode 1, it's none of the above. The battle school cover seems to be a decoy for a deeper story, and the ...

    Grounded Sword Combat
Coming from a bias of adoring sword combat. Toji no Miko does probably the best job of any anime I've ever seen in conveying the intricacies of strategy and skill within it's fight scenes.
Even though fantastical aspects like flash stepping are added in, you can make a logical connection of why characters take every action in battle and the subtleties of each characters fighting style. This is ...

So much more than what I expected.
    As of episode one.

I really enjoyed the first episode of this. I was going in expecting something bland and got so much more. For the run up I was expecting another generic monster fight anime but the depth that was present after the obligatory background opener was pleasantly surprising. Clean animation plus characters and plot that have vast potential is refreshing and has made me add this ...

Standard-- But that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a watch.
I'll be honest here. I've been more-so watching this to fill the time between more worthy titles of it's respective season. The plot in the first-half has been very standard, but it has been getting more complicated. The problem is I feel the writers don't know how to handle this and the pacing is all over the place and gets confusing at times.

On the positive end of things the character ...

A Really Great Show... For Veterans
    Story: 7
    Characters:9
    Animation:6
    Enjoyability: 9
    Action: 7

This show is for anime veterans. Toji no Miko might keep away new viewers because of awkward animation, and a lack of plot for the first few episodes for the first and second half. However, the characters in this show are phenomenal. The writers even make side characters feel developed which I thought was a great touch. This show ...

Sublime fencing with cute girls and an above average story.
Toji no Miko is a show about a few girls fighting against unlikely odds.

What you can expect watching this: Extremely well coordinated sword fights. Well above average story, likeable characters.

There some CGI used in the show in pretty awkward ways. The main fighting sequences are always done with CGI which makes it look fairly interesting since they are supposed to ''ethereal'' or ...

  • cute high school girls and swords
although it is not new anymore in anime we see young girls in high school uniforms wield swords and fight evil creatures, Toji no Miko was something refreshing to me. this anime gives you from generic yet interesting close melee combats to close relationships between girls without so much fanservice or gore.

  • Get's Better and Better as the Story Progresses
I really wanted to give this anime a chance after seeing both good and bad reviews; I loved the art style and the concept of the story so I really had decent hopes! I think the negativity and judgement was unwarranted as I actually fell in love with the series; I actually loved both the first and second season and how they contrasted each other. I loved that it seemed to be a good balance between ...

  • An unfolding journey
    Completely just my opinion,

I found Toji No Miko to have a really enjoyable story arc, character development often jumped in leaps and bounds and I found myself sometimes just accepting that they'd developed without much information on their development.

However! the final 5 episodes drew it together very well, the final episode, in particular, made reference to elements throughout the ...
