    First Impression: A Mystery?
    Episode 1 Impression:

Going in with my cynical first expectations, the main mystery was what cliche direction this would take: Harem? Yuri? Ecchi? Or just another overdone battle school? Surely those swords only cut deep enough to expose boobs and panties, amiright?

By the end of episode 1, it's none of the above. The battle school cover seems to be a decoy for a deeper story, and the ...

    Grounded Sword Combat
Coming from a bias of adoring sword combat. Toji no Miko does probably the best job of any anime I've ever seen in conveying the intricacies of strategy and skill within it's fight scenes.
Even though fantastical aspects like flash stepping are added in, you can make a logical connection of why characters take every action in battle and the subtleties of each characters fighting style. This is ...

So much more than what I expected.
    As of episode one.

I really enjoyed the first episode of this. I was going in expecting something bland and got so much more. For the run up I was expecting another generic monster fight anime but the depth that was present after the obligatory background opener was pleasantly surprising. Clean animation plus characters and plot that have vast potential is refreshing and has made me add this ...

A Really Great Show... For Veterans
    Story: 7
    Characters:9
    Animation:6
    Enjoyability: 9
    Action: 7

This show is for anime veterans. Toji no Miko might keep away new viewers because of awkward animation, and a lack of plot for the first few episodes for the first and second half. However, the characters in this show are phenomenal. The writers even make side characters feel developed which I thought was a great touch. This show ...

Standard-- But that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a watch.
I'll be honest here. I've been more-so watching this to fill the time between more worthy titles of it's respective season. The plot in the first-half has been very standard, but it has been getting more complicated. The problem is I feel the writers don't know how to handle this and the pacing is all over the place and gets confusing at times.

On the positive end of things the character ...

    Don't sleep on this anime
This anime at first might not seem like much and the animation can some times be less than stellar, but the story is good and the character development is fantastic. Give toji no miko a chance and you won't regret it.

Episode one can seem a bit slow but bare with it, the anime is just setting thing up and the it will really get going by episode three.

Kind-of "eh, it's overall good" until episode 5
Note: I've only seen up to episThe story was overall okay for the first 4 eps, but I really started to enjoy this starting around episode 5. The feel of the show shifted to a better one. It's a quite serious plot, but still enjoyable.

After this it starts taking off. The story builds into something really enjoyable. This ends up being a great action series. It keeps going until the end, which ...

Katana Maidens: Moe, Battles and threats.
Before I share my opinion on the series let me first say something that happened to me while watching it. I was really eager to watch this series as I was coming from a very gentle series without serious action. I can't blatantly overlook the first 12 episodes so, to be honest, I thought it was very mediocre lots of ups and downs and there I was on episode 12 literally ready to write a much worse ...

Sublime fencing with cute girls and an above average story.
Toji no Miko is a show about a few girls fighting against unlikely odds.

What you can expect watching this: Extremely well coordinated sword fights. Well above average story, likeable characters.

There some CGI used in the show in pretty awkward ways. The main fighting sequences are always done with CGI which makes it look fairly interesting since they are supposed to ''ethereal'' or ...
