I think I smiled the whole time
I've only seen one episode, but I'm predicting this will be my favorite anime of the year. It kind of feels like the series was pitched to be an animators' wonderland, to explore and explain unbridled creativity, yet still tell a heartwarming story.

Anime About Making Anime With Your Creative Mind
This isn't your run of the mill story about making anime in a studio. It's three high school girls that embody the animator, director and producer role in anime production. The only thing that holds them back is their creative imagination.

Science SARU and director Masaaki Yuasa return after wowing the community with Devilman CRYBABY. The shows aesthetic is gorgeous yet awe-inspiring through ...

Anime About Making Anime, But Also Unleashing Your Imagination
I wasn't sure what to think of this anime when it popped up, but I decided to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The concept of the anime reminds me a bit of Anime-Gataris, but with the sporadic energy of Asobi Asobase.

The story itself centers around Midori Asakusa, a first year in high school, and her two best friends, Sayaka and Tsubame. Midori and her friends live in this layered ...

  • incredibly refreshing!
this anime is so new and fun to see- the main characters actually look like high school-aged girls that you might meet in real life! great writing, characters with depth, a realistic plot made interesting with fantasy spins, gorgeous art- theres really not a bad thing in sight about this series that i can see. great if youre not a huge fan of action but dont want just straight slice of life!

  • A rare find indeed!!
It is very rare that I come across a anime that just makes you feel good as well as have excellent story telling in it. Simply put one of the best feel good anime.

I really like how they so effectively jump from IRL to fantasy and back. Al while furthering the main goals of the characters. It is just lovely to see the girls interact with each other and their shared fantasy world.

Still would recommend someone give it a go.
Although I rated this on the low side, I would still recommend anyone give the first 1-2 episodes a go. It is a nice concept, good story idea and shows some interesting art but for me, the pace and such was just not for me.

Again, though I didn't find it interesting enough to stick with, it is still an anime I think everyone should give a go just in case.

If you love Anime, you will like this show
For an anime about the finest details of sakuga, this anime is utterly devoid of it. But I think that's its charm. The parts where we would expect to see the greatest detail and quality are the parts where it gets the sketchiest and most amateurish. This seems to be fully intentional. In doing so, it transports us into the zany creative trajectory of these adorable girls who are tossing ideas ...

A fantastic beginning to a story about creation!
Masaaki Yuasa and Science Saru have been pumping out the jams in the last few years, and this work is already shaping up to match their other successes. I think what I love most about this so far, and it's only episode one, is how much humanity and passion these characters have. I've seen this show already being compared to the other great anime about anime making, Shirobako, but I think what ...

    This is the good shiz!
Occasionally somebody animates something you could call art. This is one of those times. I think the over flowing praise in all these day one reviews speaks for itself, well except for the review by that one guy with brain damage.

We'll have to wait to see where it goes, but I'm sure where ever it takes us it will be shiny.

    Complete work of passion
After seeing just the first episode I am completely in love with this anime, the main character is full of passion for anime and it is beautifully expressed through the animation. I was completely engulfed by the passion the characters felt and couldn't help but look in awe as they created a world through an adventure of their imagination.
