Arashi no Yoru Ni (あらしのよるに, Arashi no Yoru Ni?), or One Stormy Night, is the first of a series of picture books authored by Yūichi Kimura and illustrated by Hiroshi Abe, and an animated movie based on the book. It is also a video game for the Nintendo DS released in Japan.
In 1994 when "Arashi no Yoru Ni" was published, Kimura did not expect it to become so popular, and so he originally had no plans to continue the story as a series. However, upon receiving considerable positive encouragement to continue the story, he wrote five other books, ending with "Fubuki no Ashita (After the Snowstorm)." However, after the series had grown even more popular, a series compilation called "Shiroiyami no Hatede" was released and a movie based on the book was put into production. Soon after, Kimura wrote the seventh book, "Mangetsu no Yoru Ni", finally ending the series.
