Have you ever just stood and looked at the stars? Most people can't say they have. Isn't it strange how a person can never notice something so simple that is always there but can feel it's absence so deeply once it is gone? This is the case today as the stars have long since left our world instead replaced by the cold glare of false entities that cast a pale glow over the mysterious wall known only as "Hells Gate".

Where did this wall come from? Where did the true night sky go? What is the source of this other worldly power granted the emotionless killers called Contractors? No one can say, however in the shadows of this new world hide organizations, governments, and new superpowers willing to plumb the depths of the mystery and use what they learn for ends better left to imagination. Among them stands a contractor drenched in death yet retaining his humanity and powers unlike all his contemporaries. His name? Yet another unanswered question... But he is known and feared as Messier Code BK-201, the Black Reaper.

This is his world. A world without stars that has had it's secrets along with the things he has lost hidden behind the Hell's Gate. To find these truths he will have to crawl ever deeper into it's shadow a place that is a color even darker than black.
Extended Information

Ten years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscape. The heavenly bodies disappeared, replaced by false stars. During this time, people possessing various special abilities emerged, each capable of different supernatural feats - these are known as Contractors. Each fake star has a corresponding Contractor, which reacts to their activities. As such, Contractors are usually identified by their star's Messier catalogue number. Kept secret from the masses, these individuals are known to murder in cold blood, smothering unnecessary emotions with logic and rationale. Their incredible abilities, however, are gained at the cost of their humanity - Contractors are thus named because of an involuntary compulsion to "pay the price" each time their power is used, which can range from eating particular foods and completing meaningless tasks, to self-harm and having their bodies change in peculiar ways. Various nations and organizations around the world train and utilize Contractors as spies and assassins, resulting in violent battles for valuable objects and information.
