    Three SEGA projects are planned for the area

    A mere week after the tearful farewell of SEGA Ikebukuro GiGO on September 20, Sunshine Street shines brightly again with a brand new SEGA arcade set to open across the street from the old GiGO building – the first of three projects from the arcade chain. The Twitter account for SEGA Ikebukuro shared the first look at the first Ikebukuro project today which can be seen after the jump!

  • Ikebukuro's Renowned Sega Arcade to Close on September 20

    The building is set to be renewed

    The Twitter account for Sega Ikebukuro GiGO, one of the most iconic buildings on Sunshine Street in the heart of downtown Ikebukuro, revealed yesterday that it will be closing up shop on September 20, 2021. This is just the latest Sega arcade to close in Tokyo, with one of Akihabara's own iconic Sega arcades closing last August. Learn more after the jump.

  • 22/7 Idol Group Resume Activities After Majority of Members Return Negative COVID-19 Tests

    Moe Suzuhana and Ruri Umino to remain under observation

    The official website for idol group 22/7 released a statement yesterday updating fans on the situation of the group after two members tested positive for the coronavirus. In the update, it was revealed that the six members who were under observation have once again tested negative to a PCR test and that they have resumed activities.   • Two Members of Idol Group 22/7 Confirm Positive COVID-19 Tests

    All the other members tested negative, but 6 are close contacts

    The official website for idol group 22/7 released a statement yesterday revealing that two real-life members of the group had tested positive for COVID-19 with Moe Suzuhana on May 17 and Ruri Umino on May 20. Both members are in stable conditions, but the six other members who tested negative under strict observation for the next 14 days. More details after the jump,

  • Crowd-Funded Key Anime Film Kud Wafter Release Postponed Due to COVID-19

    The film will now premiere in Japanese theaters on July 16

    After multiple delays, back in March, the crowd-funded anime film Kud Wafter, based on the visual novel of the same name from Key, finally got a confirmed release date ... until Japan's third State of Emergency closed cinemas. Due to this Kud Wafter has moved from its May 14 premiere to July 16. More after the jump.

  • Snow Miku on Display as 1st Attraction of Sapporo Snow Festival's Online Celebrations
