    Intron Depot 5: Battalion features Masamune Shirow's design work from 2001-2009, with a lot from fantasy and mecha games likes Ashura, Breath of Fire and RF-ONLINE, including unused works and fizzled projects.If you're looking for a new compendium of the Ghost in the Shell creator's pervy curvy mecha girls you might be a bit disapointed, but if you love his design work, keep an eye out Dark Horse's November release.   • Dark Horse to Host Legendary Manga Author Kazuo Koike at San Diego Comic Con

    Koike's New Lone Wolf and Cub will go on sale in 2014

    Following the recent Anime Expo announcement that they plan to bring the New Lone Wolf and Cub manga to North America, Dark Horse has detailed their schedule for hosting legendary author Kazuo Koike at San Diego Comic Con. Koike will be signing at the Dark Horse booth, #2615, Thursday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., as well as Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. More after the jump.

  • Dark Horse Schedules Next Volume of "Berserk" Manga

    New volume of "Oh My Goddess" and "Lone Wolf and Cub" omnibus also planned

    Sometimes Dark Horse might deserve some of the grief it gets for the long wait between volumes of manga, and sometimes its working with a monthly series that doesn't exactly stick to its schedule. The latter is undoubtedly the case with Berserk. A mere 10 months after the release of volume 36, volume 37 will be arriving this November. More after the jump.

    A key rationale for last weekend's Free Comic Day is to get potential comics/manga readers, particularly younger ones, to visit their local comic shops. As such, most publishers take their time offering digital versions.     Dark Horse Comics is celebrating the second anniversary of their digital store, which offers manga including Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, Evangelion tie-ins and Kazuo Koike works like Lone Wolf and Cub.   • Manga Translator Toren Smith Passes Away

    Localization work helped set the stage for manga's North American boom

    Toren Smith, one of the looming figures in the story of localizing manga and anime for English speakers, passed away on March 4th at age 52. Smith helped bring classics like Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell and Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira to North America, as well as set the stage for the manga boom of the 00s.   • Dark Horse Announces Ongoing "Mass Effect" Comic

    "Mass Effect: Foundation" #1 is on sale July 24

    Having previously published a number of Mass Effect mini-series, Dark Horse has announced that they will be working with Mass Effect 2 and 3 lead writer Mac Walters on a new ongoing comic based on BioWare’s science fiction RPG.
