The Mazinger Z: Infinity anime film is coming to U.S. theaters for a limited engagement on February 11 and 12. Ahead of the premiere, a new clip is online to sample some of the action and keep the high-octane Go Nagai party alive.

According to the box office report for the weekend of January 13-14, Mazinger Z Infinity, a feature film sequel to the original Mazinger Z TV anime series in the mid-1970s, brought in 87 million yen from the 54,000 ticket sale for a sixth place finish in its opening weekend in Japan. In an announcement that is sure to please fans of old-school TV anime, three new cast members have been revealed for the Mazinger Z: INFINITY theatrical anime film, and one of them is none other than Ryōichi Tanaka, the voice of Akira Fudo / Devilman in the 1972 Devilman TV anime adaptation. As with many Go Nagai works, there are many REALLY weird elements in Mazinger Z. A headless Nazi villain. A vertically divided, half male, half female villain. A female robot that shoots her breasts as missiles. And, again like many Go Nagai works, Mazinger Z was quite seminal. Unlike sentient robot Astro Boy, or remote controlled Tetsuijin 28/Gigantor, here was a robot that the hero got inside and piloted from a cockpit!
The official website for the upcoming new anime film Mazinger Z/Infinity has released a 60-second music video for its theme song "Mazinger Z/INFINITY Version" featuring singer Ichiro Mizuki in a recording booth and many robot action scenes from the film.
