  • Yumi Wakatsuki (Nogizaka46) and Natsume Mito to Star in Tekkonkinkreet Stage Play

    Fumiya Matsuzaki (Prince of Stride: The Live Stage) is attached to direct

    A stage play adaptation of Taiyo Matsumoto's urban fantasy manga Tekkonkinkreet is scheduled to be performed at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo 12 times from November 18 to 25, 2018. 24-year-old idol group Nogizaka46 member Yumi Wakatsuki and 28-year-old fashion model Natsume Mito are cast as its two protagonist boys, Kuro and Shiro.     Help celebrate 10th anniversary of anime movie with Storyboard Book

    Earlier this year, STUDIO4℃ began rolling out plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of anime feature Tekkonkinkreet, 2006's adaptation of Taiyō Matsumoto's urban parable, directed by American-born effects and visual artist Michael Ariaswith events in Japan with an art book, focusing on character art. Now, it's time for the next part, a second crowdfunding campaign with the aim of supporting a Storyboard Book for September 9th (Kuro’s day).     The 00's was a great decade for anime movies for mature audiences. Maybe the best. Satoshi Kon's movies. Many of Mamoru Hosoda's. The films of Studio 4°C like Mind Game and 2006's adaptation of Taiyō Matsumoto's urban parable Tekkonkinkreet, directed by American-born effects and visual artist Michael Arias. To celebrate the features's 10th anniversary, the producers are preparing an art book crowdfunding effort.

    Unique Anime Movie Now Available Online

    Sony Pictures' Crackle has begun offering the anime movie TekkonKinkreet streaming through YouTube and Hulu.  Beyond its distinctive look, the Studio 4°C adaptation of Taiyo Matsumoto's heady urban crime fighting manga is notable for being directed and scripted by Americans Michael Arias and Anthony Weintraub.  Check it out after the jump.
