Distributor Toho recently reported that Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises topped 10 billion yen ($101 million) by the week of September 11th, attracting about 8.1 million moviegoers in the 54 days after it opened on July 20, and holding top spot for eight consecutive weeks. Disney and Studio Ghibli have announced that Hayao Miyazaki's final anime movie, The Wind Rises, is set for limited release in North American theaters on February 21 and will expand a week later.
