In the last week or two, some of you may have seen some changes to the Crunchyroll video player on desktop and web browsers. Today, now that 50% of visitors to Crunchyroll will be experiencing their favorite anime this way, we’re pleased to announce that we’re rolling out a new video player! In the coming days, barring any major bugs, we’ll be updating the web player for all Crunchyroll fans around the world. We hope this makes watching anime with us even better for all of you!

In late 2016, animator Sae Okamoto (SUSHI POLICE, Monster Strike the Movie) launched a kickstarter for a piece of original animation entitled MECHA-UDE. The campaign was successful, raising $67,918 across 999 backers - more than double the initial goal. This morning, Reina Scully released the entire first episode with Japanese audio and English subtitles on her YouTube channel, which you can watch here.

Wizards of the Coast announced early this evening that they would be releasing Japanese alternate-art versions of all 36 planeswalker cards in their upcoming Magic: the Gathering expansion, War of the Spark, featuring illustrations from character designers like the legendary Yoshitaka Amano (Angel’s Egg, Vampire Hunter D, Final Fantasy) and Daisuke Izuka (Fire Emblem, GATE light novels).

Today, following the conclusion of the 24th episode of the Sword Art Online: Alicization TV anime, the official Japanese Sword Art Online Twitter account shared that the anime would continue this October as “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld”, covering the second half of the Alicization arc.
